I'm sorry, but Democrats by nature are the future of the country. We can gain no enlightenment as a culture through "CONSERVATIVE" values.
Only through progressive thinking, a storng domestic agenda, and diplomatic relations between nations that Bush has alienated are we going to regain respect in the world and raise the standards of living for the poorest among us.
When a society is free, people are free to live their lives the way they want without worrying about gov't intervention. Republicans - more and more as time passes - want to destroy our rights and scare us into following their wayward track. People cannot invent, grow, explore, and be creative under an oppressive Republican regime.
Modern-day Republicans wiretap our phones, dig through our financial records, read our emails, and look at our medical records. If one thing looks remotely strange, we are scrutinized and investigated as terrorists. Republicans want to oppress gays and lesbians, oppress Arabs and Middle-Easterners, and oppress Mexicans and African Americans.
They try to control the media and try to spread their lies through Christian TV stations... and Fox News. Hell, these might as well be "state-run" television stations.
Think that your Republican administration does not have "STATE-RUN" television? You are 100% unquestionably incorrect. Research it -- our government owns 7 state-run television stations in countries abroad, including Iraq.
As well, Republicans are all about more money and less tax for the wealthy, and NO INCREASE IN MINIMUM WAGE OR TAX BREAKS FOR THE POOR!! They try and they try to allow free, undisrupted passage across the Mexican border so that their wealthy friends can use and exploit poor immigrants for next to nothing.
Republicans may have clear goals, but they are goals that are dark and evil. *If* I knew any person that subscribed to the beliefs of people like Bill Frist or George W. Bush I would honestly mourn for their souls because I would be afraid of them burning for eternity in Hell.
The Republican regime in America is comparable to dictatorships where people are too scared to speak out and forced to go with the mainstream or be labeled as a "resistor" or - in our case - "terrorist."
If you want my opinion about IRAQ, I feel that George W. Bush should be personally charged with the murder of every American soldier that has died in Iraq and spend the rest of his life in prison with all his other wealthy, lower-class-hating buddies from Congress.

America's New Motto if Republicans Stay in Power:
"If you are not a white Baptist waving a flag and boasting a fearful, forced patriotic smile, then you are not an American."

Right now, Republicans.
Today's Democrats are not the ones from the 50s and 60s, they have changed to a progressive socialist party and a lot of what they stand for now is not core Democratic principles. Socialized health care is not a core Democratic design. A lot of what the Democrats today are speaking of will shoot taxes through the roof.
Democrats are not against capitalism. They are not for wealth redistribution. A lot of this comes from the FDR new deal era, but at that time Americans were literally starving to death. We had 25% unemployment. And most of all, it was meant to be temporary or privatized later.
It isn't that I am for Republicans, it is just that what the Democrats are bringing right now is just too expensive. They have taken social stances which are just completely against what I believe. They have lost touch with what Americans want. And I think it will take 20 years for it to fix itself when the hippies in charge now die off.

Bipartisan systems are just plain bad.
The Republicans are evil and the Democrats are inept. Plus these days the parties do not do what they are supposed to. Before Regan the Republicans were about fiscal responsibility and small government (Nixon even had a balanced budget) but Regan, Bush, and W. have created huge government debt and been responsible for the greatest increases in government personnel and spending in US history.
The Democrats have been doing what? Warming a few seats in DC?
At this point, a fear of terrorism, loss of civil rights, mounting debt, media homogenization, and religious fundamentalism... I think the country is off in a bad way, beyond the help of either party.

The shift contained in the way maximum of us of a feels alterations with each and every presidency. that is both too warm or too chilly and we can proceed to sway from side to side from the left to the right. i'm an exceedingly proud Republican yet i visit make it by. This election became significant to each and absolutely everyone or perhaps besides the undeniable fact that i'm no longer an Obama supporter, i somewhat do not imagine he is going to stick with by with each and every thing he promised. If he would not, then human beings will probable seek for a Republican in 2012 and the cycle will commence once extra.

The problem is, Democrats and Republicans like to depict each other as "evil", but in reality, politics is all the same. Democrats may owe favors to different sectors of industry than Republicans, and may want to pacify a different group of voters, but all of them are interested in: securing donations to gain power; securing further donations to stay in power; and coming up with simple answers to complex problems so they can assure the voters the problem has been "fixed".
And for a third party to gain enough acceptance to challenge the Democrats and Republicans, they would have to follow the same road. George Washington thought *any* party system was a bad idea for the country; I think he was right. In the past, at least a relative unknown, such as Abraham Lincoln, could win an election, without raising huge amounts of cash. Now, so much cash is required for broadcast advertising, etc., etc. that the cash needed to run the system corrupts the system.
It is easy to point out what is wrong with the current system, but much harder to say what could be done to fix it. Any of the political solutions, such as election reform laws, are created within the system that needs to be fixed. As such, they share the flaws of that system.
The existence of political parties at all will continue to harm America, but how can we get rid of them without getting rid of our freedom? And how can we limit the cost of a successful campaign, without limiting freedom of speech? Earlier politicians had a chance to voluntarily build a system that was not founded on greed and corruption. They failed. Now America's future is tainted by their greed. Anyone, Democrat or Republican, who tries to claim the "other" party has done worse, ignores the truth. *Both* parties have sold America's future to purchase their own power and wealth.

Democrats should have a turn now. Bush has made a nice MESS for the U.S. and now it's cleanup time. He has proven himself to be good at one thing: Convincing a LOT of stupid people that he is helping us and doing his best. The poor are working to keep HIM rich! So don't wonder why you cannot afford to retire! Republicans are the ones taxing us to death and eliminating health care. (By the way, have you driven up to a GAS PUMP?) I think it's clear that the democrats deserve a chance here. It can only get better.
