I have been reading a lot on this guy recently and have gone from a state of basic knowledge to a bit more indepth understanding. He just seems to be appearing in everything I see currently. Be it the National Geographic in the dentist waiting room yesterday, on the idiot box or in the copy private eye I found under my bed over the weekend.

He annoys me, simply because I cant make up my mind on where I stand... which is unusual for me. Every school of thought on him actually has a good point amongst the bias and I find I fluctuate between considering him being a great but bad man, a idealist , a humanist, the next Castro and so on... I just cant pin him down.

I did a search and found a few questions similar to this, but most were rather old or focused more on specific aspects of him and his regime, where as I would simply like to hear more general thoughts.

Chances are though, whatever you say, it will say more about you then him!

The Democrats seem to have increased the campaign for an immediate pullout. And yes, some Republicans have joined them.

Why?

Harry Reid of Navada was elected to office in the senate by just one state, a state that ranks 35th in population, but now has it in his mind that his job is to save our country. In his zeal to seem important, he now wants to assume the roll of “commander in chief” and dictate to the military when, where, and how wars should be fought, overriding the authority granted by the constitution to the legitimate commander in chief, The President. Why should we wait until this quack is up for election to get him out of office and off the tax payers payroll?

Should Mr. Azad have been made the president of India. Dont you think he would have contributed much more to the scientific community of India by continuing his role in DRDO ? As a president what did he do apart from attending functions. Dont you think that India wasted one of its best scientific minds in that post ?

Should there be a minimal qualification set for entering into politics .. like a minimal educational level .. and more importantly no criminal cases pending or rejected for a person to contest the elections.

If the person entering the election is not even qualified to a minimal level of education and social awareness how can we as responsible citizens elect him to make rules to govern us.

The American system is not a democracy. It is a constitutional republic. A democracy, if you attach meaning to terms, is a system of unlimited majority rule; the classic example is ancient Athens. And the symbol is the fate of Socrates, who was put to death legally, because the majority didn't like what he was saying, although he had initiated no force and had violated no one's rights.

Democracy, in short, is a form of collectivism, which denies individual rights: the majority can do whatever it wants with no restrictions. In principle, the democratic government is all powerful. Democracy is a totalitarian manifestation; it is not a form of freedom....

The American system is a constitutionally limited republic, restricted to the protection of individual rights. In such a system majority rule is applicable to lesser details, such as the selection of certain personnel. But the majority has no say over the basic principles governing the government.

In 1983, financier Rich was indicted for evading more than $48 million in taxes, and charged with 51 counts of tax fraud, as well as running illegal oil deals with Iran during the 1979-1980 hostage crisis. During his last week in office, President Bill Clinton pardoned Rich, who had fled the U.S. during his prosecution and was residing in Switzerland. Clinton's eleventh-hour move, along with pardons of his half-brother, Roger, and former business partner Susan McDougal, outraged Republicans and Democrats alike. The Rich pardon sparked an investigation into whether it was bought by the hefty donations Rich's ex-wife, Denise, had given to the Clintons and the Democrats. In the end, investigators did not find enough evidence to indict Clinton.

I only received a couple answers, so i will reword the question:

If an artist creates a piece of art, what is the maximum amount of markup he should be allowed to charge?

Lets say his paint and canvas cost 50 dollars, and it took him 20 hours.

Is there a maximum amount of money he should be allowed to charge for his painting?

we should try to educate people that they actually existed, especially to the African-American community. people dont understand that the South (during the time of the civil war) was less racist than the north and the north used the excuse on slavery to boos the morale of their soldiers. both sides were racist, and i dont understand why the south takes all the blame for the racism.

Saudis Make Up Half of Insurgents

Saudi Arabia -- not Syria or Iran -- supplies the largest number of foreign fighters and suicide bombers in Iraq, senior U.S. military officer and Iraqi lawmakers say.

According to the Los Angeles Times, about 45 percent of all foreign militants in Iraq are from Saudi Arabia; 15 percent are from Syria and Lebanon; and 10 percent are from North Africa.

Those stats are from official U.S. military figures that the Times has reviewed. Also, nearly half of the 135 foreigners in U.S. detention facilities in Iraq are Saudis, according to a senior U.S. military officer.

The senior officer also told the Times that Saudi fighters are believed to be responsible for more suicide bombings than any other nationality.

Whenever I ask a question critical of President Bush or other Republicans such as David Vitter, I get responses to the effect that Clinton did the same thing or worse. Do two wrongs make a right? What someone does in office has nothing to do with what Clinton did or was supposed to have done. Each action should be judged by itself.

As long as the high hand of the law, (better known as attorneys) make statements that it will take years before they can adiquitly research this action......President Bush will continue to use "his supreme power" to close the mouths from telling our country and congress the truth that he does not want out.
That, I would say comes close to or is the begining of 'fascism'.
