why is congress so committed on spending mega tax dollars and time on trying to find something on the Bush administration rather than spend those resources on real issues such as 'real' immigration reforms and demanding enforcement of our current laws. inquiring minds want to know.

1.If the hundreds of senators & representatives meet and vote to approve something and the president can simply veto because its not what he wants..isn't this a dictatorship instead of a democracy?
2.If the gov't is run "by the people, for the people" why can't we vote to approve or override the presidents veto?
3.If we are required to pay taxes, but must sit back and watch one man decide the course of our country...isn't this taxation without representation?
4.Considering the 3 questions above, do you agree or disagree that our current gov't operation is very similar to the situation our forefathers left England to escape?

Please add reasons for your answers.

Most of them don't seem to care that we have suspended habeas corpus. I won't even elaborate on Bush's war. Its also interesting how people like Sara Taylor can say that she took an oath to Bush..( instead of supporting and defending the Constitution. That says it all.

This was a dream I had last night,
I was sitting on a park bench feeding some ducks, when two men sat next to me and started talking. They where getting along famously, but one of them bought up politics. I think it was the liberal one, he said, "That Bush is pretty stupid isn’t he invading innocent countries". The other man was a conservative and didn't take it well; he started shouting at the liberal and the liberal started shouting at him. The liberal and conservative argument heated up as they insulted each other further. Then they both pulled out a gun and shot each other at the same time...then I shot a duck, I don't know why, I like ducks...

Any opinions on my dream?

I think libs just see cons as ludicrous, but cons have jumped on me here at YA just for raising questions and called me Marxist, socialist, ******, all kinds of names, said I should be thrown in jail and not allowed to breed, etc. Is throwing Americans in jail for asking political questions an American
ideal? BTW, I'm nowhere near one of those leftists that think America causes all the evil in the world, so who's out of kilter?

I just wanna ask some of you if think this is insane:

our electricity rate has gone up two cents last week.. now we're looking at 23.9 cents per KWH. on top of that, they've imposed a $100 dollar increment. meaning to say, if you're average bill has been $140.00... next month it'll be $240.00. gas is at $3.59 per gallon. price of commodities are up often marked up by 35-40%..

however, our minimum wage here is at $3.05 per hour. you're lucky if you find a job at $5.00 per hour. people with private jobs are losing their places because businesses are closing. and we have what they call "austerity measure" in governemnt
work places -- nobody is to exceed more than 36 hours a week.

really now, does it take a genius to figure out that our leaders are killing us??! and know what? these are just a few of the crap thats been happening here, there are even crazier things. INSANE!

SOOOOOOOOO PISSED OFF!!!!! just needed to vent. thanks. !

I mean, why aren't the other allies stepping up and taking casualties also? Terrorism isn't a war just on Israel, Britain, and the US, it's a war against Western civilization. It's a war against democracy! The other countries are being selfish by benefitng from the produce without planting anything. What do you think?

This question is purely for Americans. Why do you think the world hates America? Note the anti American feeling has been around long before you got this rich and powerful but is of course more highlighted now. Do you believe you are the scapegoat for the Muslim Clerics and such people? Or is it because everywhere you go in the world you have stuck you foot into another nations affairs where you are simply no longer needed or not wanted.

No matter whose side you are on, it is clear that the US is at war with just about everyone. Primarily the Muslims. However, it is clear that crushing the US can only be done not by true victory but by bleeding them dry (Just as Afgan did to the USSR). A continuous unease, disgruntled citizens, continous random assassinations and devastation, with increasing life, repute, monetary, resource cost. But given money, resource and troops are the populace does it not from the perspective of the Arabs make civillians legal targets? Think for a moment, would the US be interested at all if there was no oil in those Muslim states? No! So the US brought the way to them, bombed their civillians and destroyed their cultural monuments just as the Muslims have done with the twin towers. What goes around, comes around. Dont you think?

Consider if the Nazi's conquered the UK then we would be the terrorists now and employ a similar methodology.

Reagan was smeared mercilessly by the haters, but ultimately proven to be among the greatest Presidents ever.

I see the same in Bush. Boldly following his vision to greatness while ignoring the whiners.

Who here remembers how they felt on 9/11/01. I was shocked, at first I didn't believe that this could really be happening. Soon, however, my shock turned to anger and I knew that we had to get those who were responsible.

It seems to me that many people have forgotten how they felt on 9/11 and I recently found a video on YouTube that demonstrates why we can't forget.

Iraq's pres (the new Saddam) say they can take care of themselves.... I say, great! Bring our heroes home and let's be done with them. Our main intent for invading the middle east was Osama bin Laden NOT to invade an unarmed, unrelated country.

The only offense Saddam ever commited agains America was to insult Lil 'w's daddy.

Obviously he is a great President. Only those mentally challenged individuals sufferring from Bush Derangement Syndrome fail to see that.

So I am trying to decide in a historical context how great is King W?

He obviously is the greatest President since Reagan, but I think there is a strong argument he is greater than even Reagan.

So how far back do we have to go to find a greater President? Lincoln? Washington?

Does Dubya stand alone as the greatest President the US has ever had? If so, is he the greatest leader any nation has ever had?
