Please excuse my ignorance. I really wasn't aware that muslims consider the U.S. constitution to be their highest authority.

Their religion DOES NOT MATTER.

Sorry for shouting, but apparently people haven't bothered reading the Constitution lately.

Article VI: "no religious Test shall ever be required as a Qualification to any Office or public Trust under the United States."

What part of that do people think would allow for restrictions based on someone's religion?

Just use the same criteria the Democrat Party used in 1941 to decide which American citizens on the west coast could be trusted with political office....or running around free for that matter.

They got rave reviews for their approach back then, so why not use FDR's yardstick now?

Yes. Anyone who is a citizen and loyal to America should be allowed. Most fit that bill.
