why is congress so committed on spending mega tax dollars and time on trying to find something on the Bush administration rather than spend those resources on real issues such as 'real' immigration reforms and demanding enforcement of our current laws. inquiring minds want to know.

Personal adgendas, my dear, personal adgendas! The Dems are upset because they can't force Bush into line. They feel that by right of passage, they are in control. But up jumped the devil! Our founding fathers slipped a small addendum into the constitution that ballances power in three directions. If you eliminated the so-called "Seniority system in congress, most of your problems would be eliminated. The system allows an inequitable amount of authority in the hands of a few while the majority are left to follow along or be chastised. When people are forced to allow that which they do not agree, for a length of time, they will naturally become resentful. And the fact that Bush is so stubborn and bull-headed, only magnifies the mindset. If he was more open to critic, it would not be so bad.

This is what happens when a congress wants one thing and a president wants another. The congress tries to pass something, but it does not have the votes to override a presidential veto. Therefore nothing gets achieved. The only thing they can all agree on is giving themselves a pay raise.

Because they want to win an election. A ridiculous nonsense scandal got them elected in 2006 and now they are going for the grand prize of the white house. They are playing to a base of fools and those fools are loving it. Those of us who want something done are having to suffer through it.

Congress only cares about themselves...

The 2008 election is coming up... they have huge almost complete influence over most political issues...

If one of the up coming candidates will most generously PAY them for a service in other words BRIBE as Bush did... they will go all the way for that candidate...

I'm sad to say - They don't care about the American people!

And I say this about both Dems and Reps.

They're only concerned about their personal financial welfare and the next election for their party.

We need to eliminate the two-party system!

Congress is mainly a bunch of people looking after their own interests.

Well, why don't you add up how much Republicans have cost us over oil, and you don't have to include the bodies as you can't put a price on them!

And how much did you Republicans waste trying to impeach Clinton?? At least the Democrats are not that stupid!

Bush is a criminal, who has gotten away with murder! You would like to close your eyes and make it all go away! Not this time!
