As long as the high hand of the law, (better known as attorneys) make statements that it will take years before they can adiquitly research this action......President Bush will continue to use "his supreme power" to close the mouths from telling our country and congress the truth that he does not want out.
That, I would say comes close to or is the begining of 'fascism'.

He cannot legally. But then, he's never been stopped by the law before, so why should he start now.

There's been an effective coup, with Bush ignoring any law he wants because he controls the Justice Department, and he knows he can stall Congress or the Courts for years -- well beyond the end of his term.

This is a flat out betrayal of his oath of office (which demands he enforce the existing laws), and betrayal of his oath to support and defend the constitution. It's a coup, without the use of military force. And yes, it's fascism by the very definition of the term.

The president is dead. All Hail King George.

Maybe you should explain you specific point. What court order are you referring to?

For the record, each branch of government is a check and balance on the power and authority of the other two. No single branch is superiour. There are specific areas of authority however the each branch holds in exclusivity. Only the Congress may write and pass laws. Only the Court may adjudicate matters involving the Constitution. Only the President may command the armed forces.

The President and the Judiciary are Congress' checks and balances. If Congress exceeds their mandate, as they are currently doing, the President has measures he can take to put Congress back in its place. Congress' job is to legislate. They cannot waste taxpayer money on oversight that ultimately leads to nowhere. The President has the authority to hire and fire United States attorneys. Sorry, but that is just the way it is.

The two must work together, according to the Constitution.
