India has utilised Dr. Kalam's scientific expertise as much as possible when he worked with the DRDO before becoming the President and in the prime of his life.
It wouldn't in my opinion, amount to wastage of his talent in making him President for a few years.

In my opinion, he should be reelected as our president. But, he withdrew himself from the politics, having unable to digest the dirty politics.
As he already retired from his scientific field, he may not contribute much to his own field. It is meaningless to state that being a president is a wastage of scientific knowledge.
In India, the president is not expected to do miracles in the politics, as he is just a nominal First Person of our country.

you are talking about one side of coin only. President has much bigger role to play for a country like India. All the bills passed by lok and rajya sabha are okayed by President only and he has the absolute power.

I agree with u, but we should also honor that great man with these posts. He is the living role model and inspiration of many students. How many of us know him before he became the president? After he became the president only, we talked abt him, his childhood, his contribution to India, etc
