The Democrats seem to have increased the campaign for an immediate pullout. And yes, some Republicans have joined them.

They are afraid of what the Generals on the ground might say in their report. Afraid that those reports would show progress, and make congress look bad for repeatedly asking for a pullout before the job is done.

The Democrats know that, because the President's poll numbers are down, this the best time to coerce some Republicans to reverse course. Once the report comes out, things could move back the other direction.
