amber there will never be world peace.
Can you describe in 100 words or less what world peace is? Now compare that to someone elses.
The issue is, what is peace for you is not for others. Example, ask a socialist what world peace means to them and they will tell you when everyone lives peacefully together under a socialist government. The key is you have to bend to their will for it to be peace.
I am certain that some of the islamofascists believe there will be world peace when they have killed you, me and everyone else. Would you like to go along with that definition of world peace? I think not.
So while it sounds real nice, it will not happen. People are human and that means they do things that you will disagree with, and if you disagree with them you are not at peace with them. Then you say something and the other party gets emotional about it (human nature) and pow the fight is on.
So hopefully you can understand why world peace is nothing more than a pipe dream, and how it feels depends on what you put in your pipe.

Well, the idea of world peace is like talking about buisiness without competition. With competition, buisness' can move forward, they have something to progress against, something that drives them forward. A motivation to be better than eachother. It works the same way with nations. If all the countries in the world were peaceful, then that would mean we were all the same. Which, as we know, is impossible. More than that, the entire world's economy would be destroyed. Without desire to compete economically and through force, humanity itself cannot strive forward.
Would you want to live in a world were everyone is the same?
Wouldn't YOU willingly give your life so people can simply BE different?

Man was created several million years ago and from what they could learn about his body structure there is proof that man had serious club fights in the earliest stages of his creation. And so it continues today only with more sophisticated weapons that can kill more quickly and effectively. This will continue because of the real nature of man and in the year 3,550 man will be a memory and some thing else will replace us as the dominant species. Will this need being be belligerent? Probably. Animals are belligerent. So are fish and birds. Why should man be different? Because he has a larger brain? It doesn't work that way. Man will eventually destroy man completely.

because there is competition and always will be. i personally think that there will come a time when there is almost world peace, and that might be when there is no fuel to sell, no weapons of mass destruction between any country, no money, and everything goes back around 10000 years, when what everybody worried about was religion. i also think that if everybody was very truly religious than people would not worry about things that are going on today!!

Wow, all I see is negative responses on money and religion. Money can be the root of evil and religion can be used by people in bad ways. That does not mean both have to be bad and eliminated. Money is used in many good ways to provide for families and help others out. There are many people who have done wonderful things by following God's direction to serve others and bring about peace.

Can't we all just be friends ? ala Rodney King , LA riots of years gone by . It's a wonderful dream but people being what they are it's not likely to happen any time soon sad to say . There's always some twit that will say it's because of religion , false it's mans inhumanity to man that's the bigger problem , they do use religion as a scape goat to hide behind ," they" being the extremists on both side and the middle .

I can think of two ways to answer that so I'll give you both. The first is that if we had world peace than why would we need God? With world peace there wouldn't be much trial and tribulation so God would be irrelivent. The second is that we as a whole seem to have a need for violence and conflict. We can not accept people for who they are so we come up with reasons to fight. They say history repeats itself and I have come to beleive that because we are always finding reasons to have wars. We are suppose to learn from our mistakes but humans must not be able to do that on certain things because we haven't learned our lesson from the very first war we had.

because of the fact it somewhat is in our nature to compete, each and every now and then in an excellent way, each and every now and then in a grasping and violent way. There has on no account been a time while there became 'international peace' nor will there be.

I agree with your idealistic way of thinking. I wish we could all just love each other. However, the Bible explains it the best. God allows evil to exist in the world. I hate that, but I cannot do anything about it. That's why there is a constant battle between good and evil. That's how God set it up.
