What's the catch? Are you trying to compare art with gas or something.. If that's the case, I don't see a connection...

Charge whatever the heck you want for a pointless item nobody needs.

Why should they care?

You're talking about private sales of art to private buyers. That is not a political issue that falls within the scope of the most liberal organizations' agendas.

Problem is people like you would stare at something and just see dollar signs.

A liberal would actually look at the art.

I can't think of any great thoughtful conservative artists. Unless you count the ones who design currency.
