Member states are allowed to run their own affairs, to retain sovereignty, only where the EU does not.!! How kind of them!! Jurisdiction from Brussels is specified in transport, energy, trade, competition, agriculture, fisheries, space exploration, social policy, public health,(NHS?) employment policy, consumer protection, asylum, immigration, criminal justice and foreign affairs. No wonder our politicians talk about schools so much. It’s pretty much all that’s left!

Martin Luther King Jr. was all about non-violence. He said about using nonviolence to enact social change:
"Christ showed us the way and Gandhi showed us it could work."
So why then, do American politicians pretend to honor MLK on his birthday and speak of him almost sacreligiously when in fact, the actions that they often take go against everything he believed in?

Lets see: You have 2 million Iraqis living in refugee camps INSIDE Iraq and 2.2 million living in them outside Iraq in Syria, etc. yet the US says there is progress being made??? Over 4 million Iraqis have basically decided that LIVING instead of dying is better elsewhere.

Oh but you rarely hear of the OIL INFRASTRUCTURE being attacked or compromised. Interesting really.

I guess the US government(thats the democrat/republican farce of a government)thinks Americans are just gullible.
The sad thing is that that is the case.

Just look at the stock market. Their investors keep saying to invest, invest and invest some more yet inflation is still rising at a record pace.(And I am sorry if you wrongly think that gasoline and food should be ignored). Why did so many people take a loss from ARM loans in the US?
Same reason. They WERE LIED TOO.
Wake up before its too late.

I’m looking for an attorney to sue a school in Wisconsin for not giving me my Childs records. Under the FERPA Law I am entitled to see my Childs records under the Family Educational rights and Privacy Act, administered by the Family Policy Compliance Office. I originally requested my Childs records due to a bully issue at the school. After written request for the records the school sent my request to the school district attorney. The school district attorney then sent me a letter stating that under some old statue I was not allowed to see my Childs records. I have filed a complaint with FERPA but they sent me a letter stating that they have a backlog of complaints and they would get back to me as soon as possible. I know they will say that I can see the records but the school won’t let me. I would like to make an example out of this school. The school is so uncooperative and won’t even return my phone calls. So if anyone could help please let me know. Thank you

And why do people continue to believe things that have been disproven?

I've asked this in the Environment section and haven't gotten a good answer, except that people will believe what they want to believe.

For example, that volcanoes cause global warming when in reality they contribute 1% the greenhouse gases of humans and actually cause global cooling. Or that the sun is responsible for global warming when the only other planets warming are parts of Mars (due to dust storms darkening the surface, and other parts of Mars are cooling!) and Pluto. If it were due to the sun, every planet would be warming inversely proportionate to their distances from the sun! Or any number of myths that people have brought up here, from cow farts to soda pop causing global warming. Or that it's all a hoax perpetrated by scientists who don't even make profits.

The president said that Iraq has weapon of mass destruction and Saddam is support the terrorists. US went to war with Iraq. To date, no weapon of mass destruction is found and Saddam is not related to Osama terrorist plot even though Saddam is a terror to his own people (Kurd people). The president then apologize saying it is bad intelligence, and his finger is always pointing away from himself. Many said the war is about oil. The big oil is hoping for $5/gallon, and now it is barely reaching $4/gallon. Robert Gates now says that Iran is supporting the Talliban.

Would the big oil gets $5/gallon? Would the American fall into the same hole again? Will US go to war with Iran?

I don't get the US foreign policy in terms of nuclear weapons...
The US says Iran can't have nuclear weapons 'cuz it threatens the US security and its in the US national interest to make sure Iran doesn't have any...

alright... what about Iran's national interests... the US is NOT the only country with national interests... (surprise!!!)

I don't mean to defend radical islamists or any other fanatics but i'm talking about country's rights to defend itself...(as often used by the US government)... if the US has nuclear weapons... why shouldn't Iran be allowed to have nuclear weapons to defend itself if it feels threaten by the US which is a nuclear superpower? I think Iran has a very legitimate reason to feel threaten by the US...

I really don't get these double standards....

The E.U. is continuing to carry on with it's constitution despite referendums in France and Holland voting against it. To avoid further referendums they have changed it's name and state that this will obviate the need for any more votes on the subject. Not surprising as the E.U. has no respect for democracy.

Does anyone realize how much permanent damage is being done to the Constitution, in exchange for the perception of some ethereal "safety?"

Politics, in other words, is usurping our rights. Of course, that's why the Constitution was written the way it was: the writers understood tyranny. Of course, that's why our rulers ignore it.

What I don't know is: why do we tolerate that? Stupid, lazy, ignorant, selfish, scared, powerless? You choose.

If this isn't you, tell me what you've actually done. (Remember, lynchings are illegal!)
