It seems that if we retreat then we are giving up the pursuit, which translates to defensive.

If we stay and continue to fight then we are playing offensive.

Correct?

AP Story: "A top Taliban commander said al-Qaida leader Osama bin Laden was behind the February attack outside a U.S. military base in Afghanistan during a visit by Vice President Dick Cheney, according to an interview shown Wednesday by Arab broadcaster Al-Jazeera. Bin Laden planned and supervised the attack that killed 23 people outside the Bagram base while Cheney was there, said Mullah Dadullah, the Taliban's main military commander in southern Afghanistan who has had close associations with al-Qaida."

Anyone doubt that if we were under a Democrat president with the same situation, they'd be crowing as to how good the economy is?

Rudy Giuliani said if a Democrat is elected president in 2008, America will be at risk for another terrorist attack on the scale of Sept. 11, 2001.

But if a Republican is elected, he said, especially if it is him, terrorist attacks can be anticipated and stopped.

See link - http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0407/3684.html

Question- Is he spouting nothing but fear to get himself elected and if so how does that make you feel ?

If we cut and run Iraq will collapse into a terrorist breeding failed state (plus the world will know we've failed).

It should also be obvious to anyone with half a brain that we are not winning now, and can't ever win with the current level of troops.

Why can't everyone (including the generals) just admit the obvious - only the draft and at least 500,000 troops on the ground can win this war.

I need to know....
-if his parents survived him
-the names of his children - 2 boys and 1 girl(I already got "Russel.")
the names of his siblings - 7 brothers and 1 sister ( I already found out the sister - Lucille, and 2 brothers, Earl and George)

Please help me to get all of this information. It would really help me. I've been sitting on the computer for who knows how long, and have had no luck finding any of this.

They are still thought by many to be the anti-military party after Vietnam.

People are fickle - they may support a pull out now but the Dems will be slammed if there are future terrorist attacks on US soil.

Just curious, as to why we contantly take things up the as* all the time, i.e. High health care rates, terrible healthcare coverage, expensive drugs, beacuse there is no cap?? Why do you think? Not to mention the welfare society, that most tend to stay on the system, and not give back? Yet we keep paying for it from our taxes?? Does anyone else out there have comments on this subject? What about Social Security?? If they do come up with a new accounts system do we get credit for time served? Or do we start at Zero?

People actually knew what patriotism meant. People flew American flags on their cars, everyone was feeling good about their country.

2yrs later and Americans hated America again.

It's sad those 3,000 people died for nothing.

I mean, if Dems = great economy, then I should get really, really rich with Dems in charge, right? Gee, maybe Dems are the best thing for the economy after all. Do ya 'spose if I worked really, really hard at it that I could actually wrap my mind around that concept? And continue getting richer at the same time, of course! :-))

A common talking point on the right is that you can't question the president during war time. Just yesterday, Tom Delay said it was treason.

I wonder then how we had elections during bother the Vietnam and Korean Wars, and in both cases, the White House changed from Democrat to Republican.

Did Ike and Nixon get elected without questioning how their respective wars were being fought?

Even though I voted for him in 2000, but not in 2004. I can no longer give him my support. He seems to be more concerned about big companies profits than what's good for America. His insistence that we invade Iraq was about as stupid as it gets.

This is according to:
http://usliberals.about.com/od/homelandsecurit1/a/IraqNumbers.htm
Estimated Insurgency Strength, Oct 2006 - 20,000 - 30,000
Estimated Insurgency Strength, March 2007 - 70,000

Daily Insurgent Attacks, July 2005 - 70
Daily Insurgent Attacks, Nov 2006 - 180
Daily Insurgent Attacks, Dec 2006 - 185

Why is the insurgency in Iraq attacking more and growing in size as the Democrats gain more political control in the United States?

I believe it is because the democrats have allied themselves with terrorism and the insurgency to gain political advantage in the United States. To me there is an obvious correlation between Democrats gaining political power and an increase in terrorism.

I was wondering how other people felt about it.

I heard;
"end the culture of corruption," repeal Bush’s tax cuts, raise the minimum wage, and implement the 9/11 Commission’s recommendations

but the ones I did not hear are the ones they are doing first;
We promise to legislate defeat in Iraq
We promise to give aid and comfort to our enemies
We promise to cripple our intelligence agencies
We promise to bring government to a grinding halt with endless Congressional hearings
We promise to take away more of your money

These are very disconcerting and I am not sure they would have won a few seats had these been made public. It seems they have forgotten about the promises they made publicly.
