I'll live with the thumbs down - but I think one of the greatest days since was when our military did the "Thunder Run" in Baghdad.

Since 1990? Too many people in our wonderful country are big babies these days. They don't appreciate the freedom they've been handed for doing absolutely nothing (and complaining and whining the whole time regardless). When people in the 1960s refuted the nutcase hippies by saying, "America - love it or leave it," it was because they wanted them to know what it was like to live in another country - because that's the only way some idiots will learn how good they have it in the U.S.
And to JustAnotherJoe - you're a fool. Freedom is never a lie. Try living without it.

I think it was 9/11. I was in the mess and I remember a couple of a different race helping me across the bridge. I remember a man picking up an ole lady and carrying her when she fell. It was a day that skin color didn't matter. People of all races came together out of genuine care.

Greatest time to be an American is from birth to right this minute. I feel great about this country, especially now. Oh!! and they did not die for nothing, if they did, you need to check some history, as this war started while Clinton was in office.

I would have to agree with you but I would have said a couple weeks sooner. The US was a unified country during that time. Now it is about as divided as any time since the Civil War.

you mean the 3000 who died in 911? well yes these citizens died for just riding an airline or being in the wrong place at the wrong time.
but the true heroes of this mess are our sholdiers who volunteered to go in harms way to defend the USA...these are the True patriots

I would say post WW2. The economy was starting to boom, America was on the way up, the rest of the world looked up to us. It was a time of hope and prosperity and relative peace.
