"iran couldnt ever come close to the shores of the US. " I suggest you research "hamas + inside + US" and the same for Hezbollah.

Al qeada didn't even have a military, they did some serious harm against us since 1993.

this is impossible for the U. S. to lose to Iran. first of all, Iran would boast that they've nukes, yet that doesn't recommend that they've. i will declare that i'm the King of the worldwide yet that doesn't make me the king of the worldwide. Iran lacks particular hardware to defeat the U. S.. Take the Iranian Air tension, the only plane they have that i might evaluate achieveable is the MiG-29 and their small F-14 tension. The Iranian military may be extensive, yet numbers does not recommend something in conflict, high quality and innovations makes all the style. We do what we did in the process the 1st Persian Gulf conflict. kill all armor from the air employing Tomahawks and different clever bombs, then hit their command sites with a heavy salvo of Tomahawks and kill their will with yet another marvel and awe air campaign.

Obviously you have learned nothing about how warfare has changed over the decades - how do you think terrorism works? How few people did it take to carry out the biggest single life-taking atrocity in the Western world? Tragically, for all your resources, you suffered a catastrophic loss that day, as have many other nations.

It is not all about the size or theoretical capability of the armed forces, as the Russians also discovered in Afghanistan and which the new Allies are sadly realising far too late both there and in Iraq.

Uh-huh...

This is pretty much what everyone said when you yankees invaded Iraq.

Four years and three thousand soldiers later, you're still in there.

If it was a conventional war ("offical" soldiers vs. the same), the United States would crush Iran. But its not, is it? Its the insurgency. Pretty much the same one thats now in Iraq, killing troops as we speak.

And they have a uranium program; might be for building bombs, might not be, who knows? No matter what treaties they've signed, they might be hiding something. A nuclear warhead would come in real handy if they wanted to obliterate Washington.

Just like Korea; they said "we have a nuke. Bow to us!" And guess what? The same Korea that the United States, allied with us Canadians, crushed in the late 50's and early 60's, dictated terms to us! And we agreed!

Honestly...

By the way, Iran only has an offical army of about eight hundren men. They have a paramilitary (look up the word "militia" or "terrorist") of around twelve million.

The simple answer to your question (in my opinion) is no they don't think they can beat America, does that bother them? again no, but they would be willing to die trying.
The Iraq war has actually been won by the allies, the problems now left are trying to sort out the civilian problems.
I personally cant see any of Iran's so called allies interfering in any war against Iran, I cant see any problems in America beating the cra* out of the Iranians' the biggest problem is what to do then? Occupy???
Without going into all that, my answer to your question is NO they dont really think they can beat America in a war.

Why does America want to go to war with Iran should be your question. If you find your answer and justify the will of the government of USA to go to war then consider if they can harm America.

Iran is a problem, and here is why. These "soldiers" from Middle Eastern countries who want to wage a war against the US are CRAZY. They do not care if they die, in fact, they want to. They receive the most glorious burial and they're remembered as heroes for being a coward and killing dozens with a car bomb. Middle Eastern countries also have alot of hidden money as well. You might not know it, but there are millionaires over there that privately fund terrorist groups and militants. They have alot of weapons.

Yes, they do not have an established Navy, or an established Air Force, so most people assume they can't come over here and do anything. WRONG AGAIN. They are sneaky, smart, and good at tactical espionage. This is how 911 happened. A bunch of sneaky militants snuck into our country and took our feet out from under our own carpet.

Also, the public does not know anything about how Iran opperates behind closed doors. Only the CIA and government know what goes on over there - and that is only some of the time. Iran has alot of very smart scientists. They were actually able to establish a nuclear powerplant in the middle of the dessert. These people are extremely smart and very dangerous. They are highly innovative.

So it may not seem possible that they would want to come to war with us, but the truth is they would in a heartbeat. The bad part is, they are very good at planning out sneaky attacks. Take a look around for information about the Olympics at Munich...this is a great example of how they can sneak their way into even the tightest secured places and cause damage.

If Iran thinks so they are more foolish than US.Direct war by US on Iran will be difficult,it is not easy to come out of it.US casualities will be more.US public opinion may not favour such a war.

nuclear power, Iran may get a hold of such a thing and then a nuclear missile or such becomes a threat to the United States of America, internationalal water act embraced by the U.N. say that water 3 miles off the coast of any countries is internation and there for neutral water with no say or control over it, so any country get a nuclear weapon put it into a submarine then get in neutral waters and hit people on U.S. soil if we get attacked on shore that would be the most dangerous and horrible act we could face so that is even possible from Iran

Why would Iran be at war with the USA. The USA may well attack Iran for Bush family reasons but I don't see Iran "acting like it has any power at all"

No, they don't think they could do it alone. But they know that they have us in a bind. When they get the bomb, they could use it against us but we would be reluctant to use it against them because they are surrounded by countries that we may not want to harm. When we bombed Japan we didn't have to worry about that since Japan was an island nation. Then too, China & Russia have "warned" us against using force in Iran! Russia still has the illusion of being a power but China is a power. I think we should have a talk with China about warning us about anything! They must not be thinking rationally if they think that we would allow another country to buffalo us & do nothing. If they want to do anything they should "warn" Iran or it could be the start of W.W.3 & China could be surprised at how fast we can move when threatened!
