We seem to have less oil now then before the war. Basic economics dictates that increased supply can only drop the price.

Did AhmadinejadI really say that? And if he did, why is the US so preoccuied with this fact. It seems that we woud be going to war just to protect Israel since Iran has never threated the US to my knowledge.

For those of you that believe it was a conspiracy I need these questions answered. It would have taken weeks to prep the twin towers for demolition. Wouldn't people have noticed the noise and explosives and missing girders? Wouldn't that stuff have been kinda tough to sneak by security? If a plane did not hit the Pentegon, how do you explain the witnesses that saw a plane? What happened to that flight and the people on board? It is not easy to make an entire plane to vanish. How did we get the terrorist to take credit for it and what would they have to gain by falsely claiming they did it? Finally, we have a very hard time keeping secrets. Thousands of people would have to be involved to pull this off. How do we keep them all quiet?

1) Invoke a terrifying internal and external enemy. (The passing of the USA Patriot Act on Oct 26 2001.)

2) Create a Gulag (Guantanemo Bay)

3) Develop a thug caste. (Outsourced security contractors)

4) Set up internal surveillance .( Phone taps on citizens, emails scrutinized etc.)

5) Harass citizens' groups. (Target peaceful protests anti war rallies, meetings etc etc.

6) Engage in arbitary detention and release. (Scare people and target them for security searches if they fly. Australian (first allies into Iraq !) mandatory detention and detainee abuses !

7)Target 'key' individuals. (Toe the line or lose your job ! )

8) Control the press. (Punish journalists who rightly portray Bush as the criminal that he is.)

9)Treat dissenters as guilty of treason.

10) Suspend the rule of law. (U.S.President effectively becomes dictator).

All in all a 'closing down of society' ? Correct ? Well now... Does this not smack of the tactics used by Hitler and Mussolini ?

Furthermore, are there any offenses against Bush that would warrant criminal proceedings against him and/or his henchman? If not Bush, who could such actions be taken against? I hope some of you more informed folks answer this one I would like to see FACTUAL possibilities if any at all. Thanks to all (if anyone) who responds!

To our American cousins. I understand you are concerned about your freedom, your rights.
But don´t you think stricter gun control laws might be the way to go.
For example, this weeks Economist suggested :
"child-proof locks",
"system of registration for guns and gun-owners"
"wider blacklist of those ineligible to buy them"
And hey, enough with the cheap jokes about our terrible teeth!

Fredo has builtbush's confidence, when bush didnt even see one single question from the hearing.

Shouldnt a president answer more than just 2 questions to setttle the american people, instead of running off avoiding questions?
