Hamlet said:
Use every man after his desert, and who should 'scape whipping?

Liza Doolittle's Dad said:
I'm one of the undeserving poor, that's what I am. Now think what that means to a man. It means that he's up against middle-class morality for all of time. If there's anything going, and I puts in for a bit of it, it's always the same story: "you're undeserving, so you can't have it." But my needs is as great as the most deserving widows that ever got money out of six different charities in one week for the death of the same 'usband. I don't need less than a deserving man, I need more! I don't eat less 'earty than 'e does, and I drink, oh, a lot more.

Nobody "deserves" my money but me. Hard-hearted libertarian-anarchist that I am, I'd liked to abolish all government, and all taxes and welfare along with it, but at least I wouldn't gloat over the corpses of all those "undeserving poor."

I hear a lot of people saying how liberal and left-wing Colorado is. My guess is that is a BIG misconception. The state is reliably Republican in presidential races, has Senator Wayne Allard who was ranked the most conservative senator in DC, has Focus on the Family as well as other major evangelical organizations, is one of the most pro-life states around, has been called 'the hate state' for its fervent opposition to gay rights, and has always seemed conservative to me when I've visited.

I know there's Boulder and Aspen that are really liberal--but they are hardly representative of the entire state. If you go to the suburbs or any other city in Colorado I think you'll find a pretty family-values oriented culture.

But let me get your opinion--is Colorado really all that left-wing? And why?

Do you thin the US government is out of control? They take 1/3 of our pay checks, then tax us on what we buy, then tax us on what we own once a year. They no mandate that all new vehicles must have tire pressure monitoring systems and electronic stability control. If you have a leaky valve stem it will cost approx $250.00 to fix it plus tax. They tell buisness owners that they are not allowed to smoke in their buisness or let anynone else smoke in there. If a non smoker does not like it stay out! The war on drugs is failing misserably, they need to leaglize marijuanna but they wont cause they make too much money on it being illegal. what are your views?

At a press conference held at L.A.'s California Science Center -- where he was joined by Wall, Pharrell Williams, Mana and Cameron Diaz -- Gore said the July 7 events will kick off a "mass persuasion campaign" intended to take his efforts against global warming to the next level. He said the campaigns will outline ways that viewers, companies and governments can take action.

Global warming is not caused by humans, and a global "carbon tax" would not solve anything. In fact it would give more power to the elite globalists, who want to eventually instill a socialist world government - an end to the existence of countries, including the united states.

I remember people giving Bush a hard time for his tax breaks, saying that he's giving money to the rich blah blah. But Bush said he is giving tax breaks to companies so they will hire more people. Seems to be working.

I'm not all for Bush or anything, but something good is coming from him. lol

Do you think the tax breaks were a good idea?

WASHINGTON - The top aide to Attorney General Alberto Gonzales abruptly quit on Friday, almost two weeks after telling Congress she would not testify about her role in the firings of federal prosecutors.

"I am hereby submitting my resignation to the office of attorney general," Monica M. Goodling said in a three-sentence letter. There was no immediate reason given, but her refusal to face Congress had intensified a controversy that threatens Gonzales' job.

Asserting her Fifth Amendment right against self-incrimination, Goodling had rejected demands for a private interview with a House committee investigating the firings.

Can I just ask this please without any rude answers. Are most conservatives racists? Because I've noticed most older generation conservative types i have dealt with treat those who are not one of their race like garbage, give mean/evil looks, and just spew hate (whites and some black republican types, in particular). Of course I don't think all conservatives are racist (but aren't most of them)?

And are all conservatives homophobic/hate GLBT (gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgendered) people? Are there conservatives who don't hate or not against GLBT people or is just an oxymoron?

Just questions i figured i'd ask, no sarcastic, rude, or flaming answers please.

Gave the weaknesses of human nature, can religion and politics successfully mix? Does that kind of mix give all-too-frail human religious leaders a chance to force, often brutally, their views on others? Should religion and morality be an inextricable part of political life and everyday life? Ain't no coincidence, kids, I am posting this question just before Easter.
