(I wrote it in 2004 +/-, the first time I saw him speak).

For Mr. Patrick Fitzgerald.

The legend lives on from the Beltway on down
Of the big fake they call Richard Cheney
The man, it is said, never thinks of our dead
When the skies of November turn rainy.

With a Haliburton score - $100 billion or more
Those oilmen sure made it sound urgent
Our good soldiers would die in the blink of a lie
And the bombs of Iraqi insurgents…

Concluding the terms with some Saudi oil firms
They left fully loaded for Baghdad
But later they’d find as they left men behind
The right armor just wasn’t to be had

Freedom’s the pride of America’s side
But why are the guilty forgotten?
Our brave daughters and sons and their army of one
Are not fighting Osama Bin Ladin

As criminals go ours are bigger than most
But we’re hopeful and now there’s a reason
An untouchable man’s doing all that he can
May they all go on trial for treason!

Faced with overwhelming evidence to the contrary, even President Bush has backed off his earlier inflammatory assertions about links between al-Qaeda and Saddam Hussein.
But Vice President Cheney yesterday, in an interview with right-wing talk radio host Rush Limbaugh, continued to stick to his delusional guns.
Cheney told Limbaugh that Abu Musab al-Zarqawi was leading al-Qaeda operations in Iraq before the U.S. invasion in March 2003.
"[A]fter we went into Afghanistan and shut him down there, he went to Baghdad, took up residence there before we ever launched into Iraq; organized the al-Qaeda operations inside Iraq before we even arrived on the scene, and then, of course, led the charge for Iraq until we killed him last June. He's the guy who arranged the bombing of the Samarra Mosque that precipitated the sectarian violence between Shia and Sunni...

Step 1: We do things such as driving gas-guzzling vehicles, emitting harmful gases into the environment.

Step 2: These gases open up holes in our ozone layer.

Step 3: With our ozone layer degraded, more of the Sun's rays are able to penetrate our atmosphere.

It's as simple as that.

Look at the Iraq war. You may see it as our president going against our enemies to protect us, but let's be realistic here.
All the Iraq war is, is our president trying hard to fix his own screw-up!!!! If it wasn't for our failed President Bush, the recruitment drive of the enemy wouldn't be off the charts. Bush has created aggression against our country that will now last an eternity. And American debts that will last an eternity.
GOOD JOB PRESIDENT BUSH!

is it hypocritical of Bush to chide the senate and house to come home early from vacation so he can pass a bill for "emergency funds" for the Iraq war?

Bush took 4 days to get to the south after hurricance Katrina, and took at least 4 days to visit the hospital where the war vets werent being taken care of. he's also taken more vacation days than any president in history and he's still got 2 years to go. plus, he said the war will last into the next presidency.

Also, its been estimated that the War Budget wont run out until AT LEAST the middle of June.

lastly, its the constitutional duty of the house and senate to keep him from having too much power, the idea of checks and balances, but he openly tells the media that he's the one who'll decide whats going on, and its not their place to make decisions about the war, even though the finances of the country are exactly what the constitution says is their job.

am i missing something here, or is he very plainly wrong and out of touch?

The reson fo asking this question is the prevelience of complex nature of tradition in Afghanistan and the unawarence of the people of USA and Euorop. Using of force has not been successful in the past. What to do to achieve longer lasting peace:
Intencefication of force against the militents
Negotiate with the warring faction
Engage the people in nation building through community based work

im writing a paper on bush's faith based initiatives policy. while the way the president has implemented this program is less than ideal, im still not sure if giving money for faith-based organizations to help the community in a secular manner is a good idea or not. im hesitant because i think when deciding what religious group to give money to, bias might result in giving the money to a person's religion, or ignoring some religions altogether making them seem illegitimate. also, i am concerned with people like jim jones or david koresh being given funds.

I'm not sure where you got that "650,000" number, but it's wrong.

America has ACCIDENTALLY killed less than 3,000 Iraqi's during this entire conflict! yet you Anti-Americans, Fascisists, Communists, and Nazi's have blamed EVRYTHING ON America---9/11 included!!!!!!!!!!!!!..

Anyway, Whatever, LESS THAN 100,000 people have been killed - sure thats A LOT - but its only 1/6 of what our critics say....

The term "Stonewall Riots" meant nothing to me until today. I realized that I have received an education that has completely excluded a group of people from history.

I remember learning about civil rights and women's rights. I am just curious to see if it was just the small suburb I grew up in that led to this lack of education, or if gay rights has been left out of public school curriculum.

I noticed that last year a bill was being talked about in Sacramento dealing with the "portrayal" of sexual orientation, but it simply said that any negative portrayals would be removed from public school texts, but there didn't seem to be anything about gay rights being a mandatory part of the curriculum.
