Good old Tony sent his navy into Iranian waters to be picked up. Now he is posturing to "take it to the next level" if the sailors are not set free.
Meanwhile, Iran has every right to hold them for being in their waters, though it is a stupid move to make.
Now when Tony goes in to get back their boys, he will call on Bush to help support the invasion and....poof...the US will be invading Iran.

Whoever came up with this is a strategical genius!!!

Are America and the US troublemakers as usual? The entire world know not to tresspass and sovereign nation. Who with half a brain would believe a gps system would fail to tell the Brits where they were? In other words...why bother Iran with anything when the US and Britain are guilty of every crime that Iran may be?

I keep hearing liberals say the war is over oil. Our economy depends on oil. The liberals will not let us drill anywhere else in order to save a caribou or something (while supporting abortions). If islamofascists take over the oil, were all screwed. Then the libs would really be crying (i.e. bush raised gas prices to oppress the poor, etc.) So whats the problem?

If the dems are really against this war should they vote for a bill defunding the war without adding pork to it and leave a withdrawl date off or should they keep playing games with Bush?

Boomers have been paying excess Social Security witholding above what is needed for paying current benefits for many years.

Congress changed the laws to put that surplus aside for the future - but then put that surplus into government debt bonds - so when Social Security is taking in less and benefits grow, not only will Social Security withholding need increased - taxes will have to be increased to pay back the bonds...

So Bush is spending MY Social Security NOW with his deficit spending and supplemental spending bills that don't show up in the budget. Should we demand a clear accounting ?

Would you say his pattern of psychological functioning includes the following?

The Introverted Feeling Type
Introverted feeling strives for an inner intensity that is unrelated to any external object. It devalues objective reality and is rarely displayed openly. When it does appear on the surface, it generally seems negative or indifferent. The focus of such feeling is upon inner processes and latent, primordial images. At its extreme, it may develop into mystical ecstasy.

The introverted feeling type is brooding and inaccessible, although may also hide behind a childish mask. Such a person aims to be inconspicuous, makes little attempt to impress and generally fails to respond to the feelings of others. The outer, surface appearance is often neutral, cold and dismissive. Inwardly, however, feelings are deep, passionately intense, and may accompany secret religious or poetic tendencies. The effect of all this on other people can be stifling and oppressive. When extreme or neurotic, this type may become domineering and vain. Negative repressed thinking may also be projected so that these persons may imagine they can know what others are thinking. This may develop into paranoia and into secret scheming rivalries.

Just watched an ammendment (Coburn - R-OK) defeated in the senate which would have REMOVED $100 million of US taxpayer's dollars for the 2008 democrat and republican conventions from the Iraq/Afghanistan spending bill. 51 to 45. To give credit, Obama was for said ammendment, Schumer against. How do you feel on this, and why? My personal opinion is NEITHER party deserves ONE CENT of taxpayer money to put on their conventions. All they need is their party members to get out and vote, and there are 51 senators who need to be voted out of office. As if anyone pays attention or remembers by then.

The British Navy is armed. They were boarding and inspecting ships in a warzone during a time of war. They were (hopefully!) prepared for any kind of trouble, why inspect ships outside of BRITISH waters otherwise? Why did they let their sailors be taken without a whimper?!

As you can see in the picture above, there is a woman holding onto to beams that were supposed to be so hot that they were losing their structual support and were about to give way to a very demolition-like collapse. How was this poor lady hanging onto almost molten steel?

After all, the idea of secession from the Union was that the Union was going to force the South to get rid of their slaves. The South objected, so they tried to succeed.

However sick the idea of slavery may be, shouldn't Liberals embrace these people? They refused to listen to "the man", and they wanted their freedom to own slaves!

They were only showing their dissent to the country. Remember the Liberal catchphrase
"Dissent is the highest form of Patriotism"

Therefore, the Southerners were better Patriots than any of us will ever be! The Liberals should be waving the rebel flag to show their support for these noble Liberals.

Correct?

I've been watching CSPAN, and Congress is in the dark ages when it comes to audiovisuals, etc. They use these bunglesome posters during their speeches--haven't they ever heard of Powerpoint?

And the people on WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE can vote in about 5 seconds on ask the audience questions, while the senate roll calls go on and on.

It seems that they could get a lot more business done if they would just get a little more up to date.
Tradition is good but not at the cost of efficiency.

So many people talk about this, and maybe it's just me, but sometimes I can't help feeling that republicans have a hard time opening their eyes.

I really don't mean to offend, I just am tired of hearing republicans say we need to stay in Iraq to prevent a future attack.. and I'm thinking "what?" ...Iraq never attacked us to begin with, and it's documented that hatred towards the U.S. has actually gone up dramatically in the middle east since we've been there. We're really not helping ourselves.
