During the first Bush administration.

Ironic, isn't it? They quadrupled the pay (it's now $800,000 a year), and really didn't do anything good to earn it.

Typical.

Critter Lady, I don't know where you're getting your stats from on what his pay is but the President gets paid almost $400,000 a year (along with a $50,000 expense account) not the $800,000 that you claim.

Also, the salary increase went into effect in 2001, however it was signed into law by President Clinton on December 21, 2000. President Bush didn't come into office until January 20, 2001. President Bush had nothing to do with the increase in salary.

Quit being so quick to pass judgement. Get the facts first.
