I've been watching CSPAN, and Congress is in the dark ages when it comes to audiovisuals, etc. They use these bunglesome posters during their speeches--haven't they ever heard of Powerpoint?

And the people on WHO WANTS TO BE A MILLIONAIRE can vote in about 5 seconds on ask the audience questions, while the senate roll calls go on and on.

It seems that they could get a lot more business done if they would just get a little more up to date.
Tradition is good but not at the cost of efficiency.

you have some excellent points. I think they stick to this system because they make their speech at the last minute and basically do their work on the fly rather than staying late in the office. They only make what 180k a yr. Who could make a real effort with those wages.

The world needs some more PowerPoint!

The contestants on TV are actually in the studio when voting is done. Leave a button on the senators desk and who knows who is doing the voting.

I think I'd think more about what they are actually voting on and less about how they vote on it.
