and we as Americans are held to a "higher standard" and are made to be "politically correct" to the point where we can't even protect ourselves.

I can not understand how people are so "feel goody" to these people....do they not realize that these people want us all dead? That's ALL of us....even the feel gooders.

Using Venezuela's oil revenues (valued at more than 50 billion a year) to counter US influence and multi-lateral lending organizations like the International Monetary Fund.
Chavez has already agreed to forgive 30 milion in Nicaraguan debt, provide more than two dozen generating plants to alleviate an electicity shortage and will open an office of Venezuela’s development bank in Managua top offer low interest loans to small businesses. Venezuela is also considering building an oil refinery in Nicaragua and a pipeline across that country from the Carribean to the Pacific to transport Venezuelan crude oil to refineries in China and Japan, part of an effort to move away from exporting oil to the United States. A tax on air passengers was attacked by tour operators on Monday who said they planned a legal challenge which could force the government to repay holidaymakers and airlines more than 2 billion pounds.
The Federation of Tour Operators (FTO) said it would challenge the legality of Air Passenger Duty (APD), adding if its high court bid is successful the government would be forced to scrap the tax.
Do you think the tour operators will win ?

There has been a lot of talk in the media recently about the British Underclass. The uneducated, non-aspirational people who cause most of the low level crime and trouble in this country. People who think ignorance is 'cool' and yet think their opinions should be valued. What are your experiences/opinions?

One can praise Sen. Byrd all he/she wants but it is ok.

I do not follow politics. Of course I have issues I support, but it has to be something that is going on NOW and that the senator or rep. can actually DO something about, like vote in congress for a bill. Any ideas?

Check out this NY Times article. It shows just how deep the corruption in the Bush Administration goes, albeit circumstantial as it is....

http://www.nytimes.com/2007/02/26/opinion/26mon4.html

And this is only ONE THING that's circumstantial evidence against the Bush Administration. If we added it all up, we'd have to prosecute them all for a lot more than this little thing.

Is the Bush Administration the most corrupt, in our lifetimes at least?

I'm a moderate. I like being moderate. However, I find my good friend common sense to be siding up with people on the right more often than not. It's not because of base ideology, its because most of the things people coming from a leftwing ideology have to say on this site go something like this:

"OMFG DA BHSU R BAD MENS!!!!!!!!!!!11111111111one1 HE R BLEWED UP DA WERLD TRADES CENTER WID MAGIC AND H E WNTS 2 IRAQ 4 OIL ROFLLZLL!!!!!!!11"

Because I have faith in people in general, and in fact in people from both sides of the aisle, I have a request for the left leaning population of Y/A:

Give me some ideas that make sense. Making sense in general would be a large improvement. Let me see your smartest, most original left wing thoughts. Presidents like FDR exemplify perfectly what a good liberal should be: full of fresh and intelligent new ideas. Has this been replaced by lunacy? That seems to the be the trend so far. Can you please show me otherwise?
