I left the UK 26 years ago. The best decision I ever made after marrying my Italian wife.

Good question. There is a regrettable tendency sometimes to extrapolate from one particular and draw general conclusions. That there is an underclass is certainly true - but then there always has been. My guess is that it represents under 10% of the population, i.e. that 90% of people don't commit crimes, have aspirations, are decently educated, value knowledge rather than ignorance and think that opinions only have value if they are sincerely held and thought through.
The challenge is for the 90% actually to care about about the 10%. This is what David Cameron meant by "hug a hoodie" I think. The poor will always be with us, so will the stupid and the unlucky, the abused and the weak, the unhappy and the depressed...It is up to us to do something about our "underclass". Can we do this do you think?

If you just throw money at the problem which all the polititians seem to want to do it will just grow and grow. Make them take work if not stop the money, and for those who say this will lead to more crime, lock them up if caught no asbo's.There is a sense that you can get away with anything now,and that no one care's.It is getting to the stage when vigillantie's will start to roam the streets and that is bad,but inevitable if the present breakdown in law and order continues

The worrying thing is, and remeber this 'dumb act' is supposed to be an act, that the act is no act at all, and these dummies really are as stupid as the newspapers they read, which naturally are low level 'readables' for munchins.
All the #Big Brother' thing, yes, ts real, the people in there really are that dumb. The poor, the poor poor, who idolise footballewrs, who earn £50,000 a week, how dumb can you get.
As for politics, and turning to their opinions, who cares, especially as they are all crap reading, football supporting racists thugs.
The good thing is this, with a brain, among every 1,000 or so, they might pose a real danger, which is never going to happen.
Is it, you muppets.

Its not just the poor who can be crass, ignorant and violent! Rich people are often the worst offenders for this!
But many of theose who are poor and like this are either like it through innate laziness or have been made this way through poor upbringing, parents who don't care, poverty, few opportunities in life and seeing no way of making money and having a decent life than falling into crime.
If this Government cared as much about work and training for the young instead of spending money on stupid wars and flooding our job market with Poles at least some of these "yobs" might be saved.

this class is the class that knows its lost everything at the hands of the well to do traitor class, who sabotaged their future before they were born.they think to be of any worth they have to be on telvision, those who have made it are forever bragging about how wanderful everything is for them and ramming it down the throats
there is a rabble at the top, its just a smarter class of rabble, most damage to the country has been done by the smart rabble at the top. the bottom never get a look in so they cant be blamed.

Sadly these people breed faster than the other "classes" so the problem is only going to get bigger, and with the advent of violent attacks on others (even if only other gang members) the resources are being used up on them. This annoys the rest of us, as all resources are limited and why waste time and money on ?people? who really don't deserve to be treated as such?

i read something about poeple who are on heroin, when they get their perscription heroin that there should be contaception mixed in with it. i agree, it would stop a lot of drug addicts having kids who grow up to be like their parents.
i think the reason for a lot of these uneducated non-aspirational people is that they have been brought up in ares where they dont see anyone getting good jobs, or studying hard, and therefore are brought up to believe they are the same, yet seem seem to think that it is the people with money and good jobs, who actually worked hard at school that should pay for them and their benefits.

There seems to be a lot of prejudice against the educated too. A strong education seems an impediment in lots of ways because you are viewed as a threat.

It's a generational thing.
The scum you see on the streets carrying butchers' knives are the sons of the thugs we saw on the streets in the eighties.
The only answer is castration for people who fall below a certain IQ.
Breeding should be allowed only for the intelligent. That way, the scum will die out.
