Think about it. The Iraqi soldiers are only loyal to their Shia/Sunni/Kurdish backgrounds, and not loyal to their country. They never have been loyal to Iraq, itself, throughout Saddam's brutal regime. They were forced to take sides with their religious backgrounds for protection and whatnot. Take a history lesson and you will understand.

Many join the Iraqi military in order to steal weapons to fight with in their Shia/Sunni/Kurdish ranks. This is why much of our Iraq War funds are unaccounted for. Bush's plan to create a unifying Iraqi military has all the odds in the world stacked against it.

So, now, I'm sure you can understand why the Bush administration admitted the plan should not succeed if the Maliki government does not do its job.
And frankly, the Maliki government has not given us any reason to keep faith in them.

Considering the history of indians confined to live in indian reserves to avoid being killed by white settlers , the brutal treatment of slaves , the head tax charged on chinese immigrants who built the Pacific railway , and the total ban on Chinese immigrants to America for almost 50 years , the ill treatment of civil right activists during the 50s and 60s , the shootings of students in Kent state unversity during the anti-Vietnam war protest, etc etc.

The ad council, HUD, dept of energy, Agriculture, Drug Czar, EPA think green, et al.

Is it the government's role to spend millions telling us to get greener cars, stay off drugs, graduate, buy a house, et cetera. Even if they are advertising worthy causes, is it really ethical to use OUR money to preach to us?

As we all have come to realize, the price of gas has skyrocketed over the better half of a decade. I believe this is the result of foreign nations realizing how dependant we are on their fuel. We are destroying our planet faster than any other nation in the world. Much of that destruction is a direct result of our dependency on fossil fuels. Should we switch to alternative feuls such as EA5 Ethonol or Hyrdregen? If yes, how will we accomplish this fast enough to save our planet and prevent the ice caps from melting?

You are told its a Republic of that utilizes Democracy via election process! Yet no common person can get in office without pandering to big business? Your votes are NOT verifiable with recorded proof! Wouldn't you like to have a direct verifiable say in you families welfare & financial security? When are you willing to organize change? You can NOT rely on VOTING every 2/4/6/8 years.

Might it be just the moral booster US troops need to win the war in Iraq?

Would it be easier for US troops to kill the terrorists in Iraq because they'd be coming out of hiding to try & get Bush?

Might it give Bush a little more help focusing all the difficult problems confronting the US military in Iraq?

Wouldn't it be beneficial because he would be able to talk face to face with his Generals everyday?

Plus he wouldn't have to worry about the Dems harrassing him anymore because they wouldn't really be around.

And he's pretty much a lame duck President anyway but he could still do a lot of good in Iraq & if by some miracle he helped the US to win the war by being in Iraq he might actually save his Presidency & not go down as the worst President in modern day history.

Why does it have to be EITHER a naturally cyclical phenomenon that would happen regardless of us (right-wing stance) OR a man-made disaster due to our burning of fossil fuels, etc (left-wing stance)? Why has nobody mentioned option C: It is a naturally occuring event that happens every x number of years, but our actions are speeding up and/or intensifying the process

They either ask in a way in which they don't want an answer, just a reaction (i.e. "Chopper Bloke" or "Chi Guy") or ask in such a condescending way. And this is both sides. Don't they realize that insulting the other side doesn't make you look good, or cool, or witty? It just makes you look like an @$$hole.

You can't, because it never happened. If anything, terrorists are now inside our country because of this darn war. There has been evidence of that. The war is NOT keeping us safe!

Now, I'm not saying that what the Americans did was great, but isn't there a bias in our history here? We teach our children about the trail of tears and such, but rarely do we discuss the natives rushing villages and scalping innocent men, women, and children for no reason. Weren't there autrocities on both sides? Can we really say that one side was any better than the other when both frequently attacked innocent people? Also, am I wrong for seeing this as a typical war over land? To me, it is no different than most wars in history. Two groups of people wanted a land for themselves and couldn't find a way to share it peacefully. War occurs and one group wins, as typically happens. Should white americans really feel bad for winning this war and keeping the land we fought for?

I could list 100 or more individual financial burdons of foreign nature taken on by our government that I believe the people's say has no authority. (and it should) Most of these donations/gifts, what ever they are called, were not approved by the people of the United States or they were approved by government and kept from the people. Most of these giving programs have no date set for them to end!

I think the United States Government would have more than enough money for SSI, Medical Insurance and many other programs to help the american people if some or all of the foreign giving programs were stopped.

I would like to see someone in the white house, either presidential or otherwise that would come up with a way to allow the people to decide if they wanted to continue to fund thes countries or not. Someone has got to hear this and make it a priority on their list of things that would help the people of the United States.

Help me out here.
