No one "sends their sons to war"!
The miltary is all-volunteer. The ADULTS in the military understand the consequences of their enlistment.

I hate to point out the obvious, but in the US a man cannot enter the military until age 18...when he is considered an adult and able to make his own decisions independently of his parents. His parents cannot sign him up for the military and thereby 'send' him to war. It's a decision he and he alone makes. And thank goodness some are not chicken to make it because they provide us with the freedom we have and live with. It is also because of the freedom they provide us that people like you can even ask such a question without fear of reprisal....except for the verbal ones you're sure to accumulate on here.

Parents DO NOT send their sons off to war,
because the US Military is an all Volunteer
Force, their sons VOLUNTEER for military duty.

A parent cannot make their sons go period. He goes on his own free will to sign on the dotted line. They are proud for their sons standing up for this country and the freedom our ancestors died for. We need to bring our boys home from Iraq yes. But, I wupport them while they are there. Remember 9, 11? That is what they are fighting for so we don't have to ever deal with another attack like that or worse.

What parent sends it's son to war? I believe that the sons choose to join the military and do their duty whether or not their parents like the idea. So, your entire premise is faulty. Further, it's "....for the false belieFS..." not "believes." What should parents do, instead? Lock their grown children away so they are unable to choose for themselves what actions they will take?

Parents don't send their children to war in this country , our military is voluntary... Of course there is the draft, which Democratic representative ,from New York ,Charles Rangel talked about implementing the first of this year, but that still wouldn't be Parents sending anyone.

Nobody sends their sons to war. It is a volunteer military.
How can you form an intelligent opinion about anything, if you don't even know something as simple as that?
Educate yourself before you hurt yourself, or worse, somebody else.

First of all Parents don't send them, they volunteer and gladly so! Putting your Country first, by serving in her military, is a noble and pround profession that people like you will never understand. The politics of the government doesn't dictate that! Try it sometime if you can make it, my money says you don't!

well I'm pretty sure joining the military is the decision of the son/daughter, not the mother. i would like to thank you though for pointing out how liberals feel about our soldiers. most people know that liberals are anti-American and hate the military, but it is always nice to have that re-enforced daily also.

Excuse me, but no one sends their son into the war. Men go from their own choosing. That is what freedom is all about!
