We were under surprise attack from terrorists.
They were hitting big symbolic American targets.
No doubt, the President would be the biggest target.
He sat where he was, at a school filled with American children, live on TV for all including terrorists to see, for 1/2 an hour.

First of all, I’m not defending Iran. I wouldn’t have voted for Ahmadinejad & think he’s bad for Iran. Please stick to the point raised here & don’t attack me personally

In 2005, Iran held its annual “World against Zionism” conference. President Ahmadinejad’s speech quoted Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Khomeini from several previous conferences.

This statement was translated by western media as a threat to “wipe Israel off the map”. It’s been quoted as this ever since.

Iran immediately rejected this & publicly stated there is no desire to harm Israel.

Since then, several experts in Farsi & University Professors have translated the Ahmadinejad quote to actually be:

"the regime occupying Jerusalem must vanish from the page of time"

This is a rejection of the political ideology of Zionism, not a threat to Israel or Jews

So why still quote this? Using it makes any real argument against Iran look like propaganda

Some proof:

It's time they drop their holier-than-thou attitude and just acknowledge that the right-wing does it too!
Whenever liberals say something, it doesn't matter how true it is, the conservatives claim the liberal is smoking pot and is a commie/hippie and that they should shut up. That is their response for most things from what I see.
Some conservatives even result to direct, offensive profanity...
Of course it happens with both liberals and conservatives.

It is the same for liberals AND conservatives!
Didn't I prove my point?

I think that without parties it would help to eliminate partisan politics. I am sick of politicians who support or condemn others due to their political affiliation.

I realize without parties there would be no caucuses to narrow the field down to a reasonable number of candidates on a ballot, but I'm sure it could be made to work.

We all know how the Clinton adminstration downsized the military. But since the Bush administration increased military funds substantially, let's look at something more recent, relevant, and significant to United States citizens today.
The Bush administration has cut funds from everything you can imagine. Funding has been cut for hospitals, veterans' healthcare programs, pharmaceutical companies, schools, worker safety and health grants, cancer and AIDS research, public healch advocacy groups, fire prevention programs, flood prevention programs, airports, etc...
The list goes on. He has used this to fund his "War on Terrorism". Therefore, the extra funds have been wasted because he has only increased the terrorists' recruitment drive and viciousness.

OK. Politically I am extremely left-wing, but I have right-wing friends, and I don't let politics get in the way of relationship. People have their own opinions, that's fine with me.

Here, it's a completely different story. Here there are people attacking not just political figures - that I could live with - but everyone who has a political ideology other than their own. Every other post is along the lines of 'All liberals are traitor Hellbound scum' or 'republicans = MORONS'.

Why is it that you cannot live with the idea of anyone having a different opinion to you? Why do you feel compelled to generalise and slander against a whole half of your country? What's wrong with you?

If you want to post to sympathise that's fine, but what I really want is for one of the people that does this to justify it.

We already did what we wanted to do. There were no WMD's, so we don't have to worry about that threat. That objective is therefore completed.
Secondly, we took out that brutal dictator Saddam Hussein (even though there are still plenty of evil dictators to go around in the Middle East), so that objective is completed.
It was not until after the capture of Saddam that we started working towards a democratic Iraq. This objective was planned from the start by the Bush administration but it was an adjunct objective which the American people never knew about from the beginning.
We already set up a democratic government. It's not our job to babysit them while they do nothing to help themselves. It's their job now. It's time to get out. The war is already won by the USA.

I have seen many questions here which ask similar questions, generally with a bias one way or the other. I am asking for thoughtful answers... please no name-calling, or "because that's what I was told", etc. Also, since there is no recording of the first hit of the WTC, please do not say that you saw it...

If you can, back it up with research... I've seen people say "prove it" - so here is an opportunity to do that if you have proof.

Do you questions some things, don't question others? I really am hoping for a well-rounded answer to this question.

The cons will now probably start talking about liberals. Before you open your mouths, realize that criticizing the commander-in-chief and his unreliable war strategy is different from criticizing the troops.
