what national issue should I write about in my letter to the New Jersey Congressman/Senator?

Try researching a subject that interests you. Abortion, gun control, the war in Iraq/Afghanistan, prayer in public schools, and taxes are some possibilities. There might also be a law that you think should exist or a current law that you don't like. Try a site like wikipedia.org to find some current issues. On a side note, stay in Scouts and try to reach Eagle. I'm 19 and I can tell you its the finest (and maybe hardest) accomplishment of my life and even though it took a long time, I wouldn't trade it for anything.

Universal Health care is going to be a hot topic one of these days soon, whether you are in favor or against it will be something that will be discussed many times before and after the next election.

You should write about how we need to close our border down with Mexico and how our government needs to listen to the voice of its own people. Who speaks for Americans, surely not these two face politicians they keep putting in front of us.

In MY OWN situation, i often have to decide whether to pay for medications I need daily or put food on the table---literally ! I don't know the answer...good luck with the project
