Oh, God, where do I start?!? Well, OK....
The UN has become one of the most worthless organizations in recent history - take the controversy with Iran, for example. Instead of saying, "Suspend your uranium enrichment, or we will immediately impose sanctions, and military action will not be out of the question." they say, "Please, stop your enrichment of uranium? Pretty please?" Then, when Iran doesn't comply, they say, "Iran, we're serious this time. Please, stop enriching uranium to make bombs." OK, not those exact words, but you get the idea. Plus the fact, they are headed by some of the biggest America-hating countries in the world, such as Libya chairing the UN Human Rights Commission.
Compare that with the 1960's, where the UN came down on the Soviet Union for deploying missiles and advisers to Cuba, or, hell, even 1991, when Bush Sr. got the UN to stand up as one against Saddam Hussein's Iraq.
Plus the fact, the UN represents the total surrender of US sovereignty and our right to defend ourselves. Again, look at the situation with Iran - if it deteriorates to the point where military action becomes necessary, if the UN-lovers have their way, there won't be any military action, because the UN won't allow it!

They cost a lot, sit around all day talking about how terrible we are, then expect us to fund anything they want to do.
I wouldn't actually end it, I think it is useful to have as a forum for information on how other countries feel. However, I don't see where it is useful beyond that. And I do wish it were not in New York.

The UN has no Backbone
The UN is comprised of many Socialist countries
The UN is a huge waste of time and money
The UN wastes time before any action is considered
The UN does not enforce it's decisions

5 words.....Oil for food program scandal. Thats all the reason I need. If you remember, the leaders of the UN were on the take in this little "program".

Because they don't do anything, let alone their job and they cost the US taxpayer billions of dollars. And let's not forget about the corruption. It's not hard to figure out.
