I live in England and have been used to having muslim friends from pakistan, bangladesh etc. in the last year there has been increasing tensions between muslims and the rest of the population. but i want to reassure muslims in britain that not all of us are crazy crackpot fools who support the 'war on terror' and blair and bush. how can we do this and save the multiculturalism in britain that used to work so well (in my area anyway)?

I am interested in suggestions, historical and current to give USA a name (Think names like Canada, Finland, Uruguay, and so forth), other than the descriptive United States of America.
If anyone knows the reason why such a name was chosen, I'd be pleased if you'd enlighten me.

For example, I am about to take a job writing proposals for government jobs. But I had a felony offense a few years ago, and was accepted into (Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition) and am in the program a few more months. I can expunge the felony off my record. I am afraid I will be denied the clearance. Would I then be fired from my job if I couldn't get the clearance?

Not just medical, but for example I usualy spend close to 10,000 in medical premiums and benefits per year. I have to pay a bunch if any reason we make an emergency room visit, then you got the dirt bag family that doesnt even try in life in the next room getting their visit for Free. I guess I am just wondering if the pisses everybody else off as much as me.

ragwort grows and spreads like wildfire especially on the motorway. its very poisonous to touch/consume to humans and animals. it can cause liver failure. its covered by the poisonous plant act. if a poor farmer is seen to grow it they get fined. you cannot get rid of it by just pulling by hand you have to either sray it or dig it up by the root. you need to wear special gloves etc. unyet the people who look after the mways and local verges just cut it therefore encouraging it to spread and grow. it usually goes in the poor farmers field. it causes liver damage - severe if consumed by touch or ingested. why do they ignore this wild plant???????

Governments are spending billions on global warming and imposing vast costs on important industries to counter global warming.

Should we continue to accept global warming as an established fact or question the validity of it? Global warming is not seen outside populated areas with a lot of ashphalt and concrete.

What's your opinion. Jay Leno had something to say that really made me think:
"With hurricanes, tornadoes, fires out of control, mud slides, flooding, severe thunderstorms tearing up the country from one end to another, and with the threat of bird flu and terrorist attacks, "Are we sure this is a good time to take God out of the Pledge of Allegiance?"

I think people are taking things a little too far. This IS one nation under God so why are the evil pagans trying to spead their disturbing ways to the rest of us. The whole point in God being in the pledge is that this nation was BUILT with trust in God. Hello "In God we trust" Look at your money. Stated right there.
