We just held an international conference on AIDS and our own Prime Minister did not even show up. What an embarrassment for Canada.

However, Stephen Lewis (UN Envoy for AIDS in Africa) for a Nobel Prize! The man is so passionate about AIDS in Africa. He pulls no punches and lays the blame on inaction exactly where it belongs.

the government only cares as much as the people pushing the issues. sadly it is more the average person that is attempting to act on behalf of those living with AIDS. The government is providing funding for research and outreach, as well as prevention, but it is never enough. As for it going away, that will not happen any time soon. It is becoming a treatable illness, but it is still not cureable. Just know the facts.

Well they're not offerring taxpayer support for community outreach programs that offer condoms and they're not funding humanitarian outfits that give birth control education in developing nations like Kenya and Thailand. both of those went out the first week that George W Bush took office.
