I've heard this "America is great because it's free" type of stuff so many times on this site. Like it or not France is free too, so is all of Western Europe. In many cases these countries have more liberal laws than the US (gay marriages etc.)
And what about this American dream crap?
Grrrrr. America didn't invent capitalizm. England had free markets long before America existed. There are dozens of countries where you can make it rich no matter what your background is.

Okay, so the high school teacher is upset and is crying over his 4th Amendment and probable cause. Well, the cause stated is 9/11 and the safety of those attending the event.

Is a football game so much different than a rock concert. Oh, yeah, pat down those attending rock concerts, they might have cameras or are dope smoking fiends. Certainly, no dope smokers watch or attend football games. Of course, they also serve beer at football games and team rivally can get heated.

So what is all the fuss about being patted down, a little inconvience that I have been living with going to concerts for the last 30 some years.

The European Union, despite it's rocky start has a growing economy and China has the fastest growing economy, ready to overtake the US as the largest. Many Pro-US members have made the point that despite president's mistakes and despite the ill-fated wars we are waging, the United States remains on top and is a country which is envied. The United States is doing well, but as jobs are exported and other countries produce lower cost goods and services, do you think our economy will fall from it's #1 spot in our lifetime? Furthermore, the our military dominance is wavering as European and Russian defence contractors build cheaper warplanes which are just as effective, along with comparable munitions and other equipment. Our only chance is that our allies will stand together as a base to support us. If we truly weaken do you think they will feel the need to dedicate themselves to us? I don't mean 5 or 10 years from now, but maybe 40 or 60 or 100...could 1 more BIG war do it?

It's MORE than heavy handed to kill hundreds of Lebanese for 2 soldiers. It is tantamount to plain old murder. Is this not a 'holocaust" too?. No matter what attack Hezbolah made - killing innocent citizens is wrong, wrong, wrong!. It's more than time for Americans to be vocal and admit it.

We had a friendly discussion at a party this weekend and I heard, what I believe, is the worst justification for the civilian deaths in Lebanon. A man who I normally like and respect his opinion on Israel got upset about the criticisms and asked, "What is the big deal? More innocent people die on the roads in the US every week then have been killed in Lebanon." I was left uncharacteristically speechless.

Did he have a valid point or is the the worst excuse you've heard to marginalize those deaths?

Note: I support Israel's right to fight the terrorist threats to its sovereignty and border. But they are not killing terrorists, they are killing civilians who were too poor to relocate or had no where to evacuate to.

Today's world wants to be all lovey dubby and let everyone do what they want without accountability. I think you have to address a threat when it's small or else it will become big. No UN peace keepers will stop the hatered flowing from the Ji-Had inspired muslims. Nor will they stop the repeaded attacks on Israel, the US, and other western countries. I think the only option we have is violence/war, sometimes unfortunantly thats all you can do if you want to survive. I wish it wasn't that way but I don't see peace talks and economic sanctions changing a culture.

One of their main policies today states how they want to spread democracy to people who don’t have the freedom it brings. But they are responsible for removing democratic movements in nations such as Iran when it seeked to control its national resources or whenever it is convenient to have a dictator who is pro-American.
In today’s age it is becoming harder to fully control the facts which the public can access, all this info is out there and in history books, so when will countries be held accountable for their acts and stop trying to delude us all.

Oh and by the way, I know the British were part of Operation Ajax, but this is a question about the United States actions. Its not a debate, its a question.
