You know what... ANYONE WHO DRIVES DRUNK IS AN IDIOT!
Hollywood Star or Not. They should know better!
Hello people!? Drunk driver!! Who gives a flip if he is famous or not. To me it does not make a difference what he has done in his career. I love watching his movies and such, BUT a drunk driver is well... just that, a drunk driver! AND, as for what he said... he has the right to believe what he wants, but when you start blabbing it around to people, it makes it everyone's business. Or at least in Hollywood it does. Just like those stupid Dixie Chicks got a lot of grief for what they said... or when someone says they are gay or getting divorced. In hollywood, you have no private life anymore. You can blame that on the tabloids and people who buy them!

The media whipped this up some what and Mel has alot of success in his life which would make him a target of hate and jealousy from all the people who are not very successful in this life.
Many people gnashed their teeth at his Jesus movie -
Driving drunk
Anti - Jew remarks - This country has a real fear of criticizing Jews The ADL was put in place for a reason

This is the life of celebrities and people who are famous.. everytime you make a mistake the whole world knows
yes it is not wrong to make a mistake
everyone makes mistakes but the thing is everyone (as in normal you and I kinda people) is not famous and only like a handful would know you made it and gossip about it
as a famous person I think you should be prepared to accept the whole world gossiping about your mistakes as one would normally do if it was someone you know

I agree completely. We all mess up and deserve forgiving.
But here's the rub. This man makes his living almost directly off his popular appeal - His father has made public, anti-semitic statements. "The Passion" was also accused of being anti-semitic. Now Mel himself, drunk as a skunk, snarls at a Jewish offiicer while spewing anti-semitisms.
People wanna know if they like this guy any more.

Cause after his Passion of the Christ he is shunned by the Jewish in crowd and will be forever most likely. I just cant understand how these stars with all their money cannot take a cab or pay a driver. I would f-ing love to have their money -- I would never drive myself anywhere!

I have NO idea why it's such a big deal....and quite frankly, I'm getting real sick of hearing about it. Everyone knows drunks can't keep their mouth shut and he said he was sorry and he's getting help. The media needs to move on!!!

Many Jewish power-players were already mad at him over his movie about the Crucifixion. They accused him of being an anti-Semite back then.
Given the current conflict, he was sharing a view, one not rare on this VERY BOARD. Does seem a lot of fuss over very little.
I am sure he and his family are VERY embarrassed.

No, he wasn't drunk enough to have accidently said those stupid things. Perhaps he is just another stupid actor, in a Hollywood full of stupid actors who don't know how to shut their yaps.
