I've heard this "America is great because it's free" type of stuff so many times on this site. Like it or not France is free too, so is all of Western Europe. In many cases these countries have more liberal laws than the US (gay marriages etc.)
And what about this American dream crap?
Grrrrr. America didn't invent capitalizm. England had free markets long before America existed. There are dozens of countries where you can make it rich no matter what your background is.

PPS: I'm not saying America isn't a free country. I'm just saying there are similar freedoms in many other countries and some (not all) Americans seem unaware of this

The problem is, most Americans are so isolated they don't realize that other countries have developed a democratic process since 1776. We don't study international government, only U.S. government, and most people grew up with a Cold War mentality--"It's the Russkies or US!" We've had it pounded into our heads that the world revolves around us for so long, that we forget that even though we have a large economy compared to most nations, we are still only 300 million of about 6 billion people, and many of those people live in democracies.

Propaganda and more propaganda. Our government throws the words "freedom" and "liberty" into every speech, even when what they're really promoting is the opposite. This is frighteningly similar to George Orwell's "1984", where the Ministry of Truth spread lies while the Ministry of Peace saw to it that the nation was always at war. Most people in this country like to be blissfully ignorant, so they want to believe we're free even though the neoconservatives have made this country the most oppressive regime this side of the Taliban.

In a George Bernard Shaw play, the hero says
"you should go to England; England is a free country because the people are free to do whatever the Government allows them to do"

Says it all for free countries...?
In other countries you stand on the street and say down with the government you get arrested, whereas in the land of the free you get ignored

America the free, the American dream i was born here in USA in the early fifties rural poor, volunteered like a naive fool end of Vietnam chasing the American dream all over this country and have not been successful in the manner of my dreams, in fact its been more of a big bad nightmare. This country sucks in more ways then one, and we want change "relinquishing U.S.Congress and a illegitimate World Corporate Ruling Class of their Capitalistic Control of Money/Power/Wealth". Legitimately returning it to the majority of the legal citizens and reinstating majority rule in general etc! Propaganda in and from America is freely everywhere, and deceit is majorly ramped.

How many countries are there where you can stand at a street corner with a loudhailer and condemn the American President and his policies ? The strange thing about America is that it allows foreign nationals to settle in the US and then allows them to participate in supporting foreign terrorist sponsoring countries. So, isn't America a free country?

Its because on the whole the American people are ignorant. This is not actually their fault, its because of years of spin and propaganda by the government. Also, because America is so vast they have most of the things they need in their own country, as a result the American people don't usually visit outside the US and therefore have a very warped view of the rest of the world.

Free! that's funny.

When will the US be liberated from advertisers, media domination, corporate tyranny and branding that dominate, control and dictate their whole lives?

Their public spaces and minds are held captive by branding and advertising at every single turn. They invade every single mental nook and cranny, their mega corporations have severed ties to local communities, schools and universties ,they can't even go to to a public toliet without being indoctrinated to purchase something on the bathrooms backdoor!
they live under the greatest dicatorship of all time!

England had free markets? Oh! you mean the East India Trading Company or the West India Traing Company, monopolies granted by your parlement. How about your right to fly the King George flag? How about your helmet laws were everybody but the sheeks have to wear one? How about all of the unrest in France by the muslims because of their living conditions? These are all just taking place in your countries. Get your facts straight before you sling stones.

What God might have for us is maximum impressive. the tip game? What end game? There are basically consequences whichever way. in basic terms God can do God's will the mostest. i in my opinion, shall objective to do as God might have me do... God speaks to us all in many strategies, jointly with voices, targets, visions etc. loose will operates out of decision, loose will is thereabouts the devil's will, to me in my opinion. it is an apple genesis tale back. do no longer settle for apples from the devil. do no longer settle for apples from the devils. Ask God approximately apple of life, & apple of understanding. do no longer take from the centre tree. God so knows. Ask God first. a lot of my braincells look to think of they have a will, whilst in fact, all they have is volition. God knows. Will is largely undesirable, i in my opinion does not pass alongside that direction. Grace is maximum superior. Grace comes at Grace speed. thank you be to God.
