Yeah, I guess I didn't realize that the eyes of the world were watching me and there were so many non-USA citizens reading this thing. Which is one thing you-all complain about right? Americans just blustering around like they are the only country on earth and everybody else is either a loyal ally or a problem to be shut up with the threat of being "bombed back to the stone age." I personally, now that I think about it, can see how this would get annoying.
Of course, this is how our teachers, our newspapers, our churches, and most of all our current government tell us to think.
It takes a real effort to be "different" in some parts of America despite what you may have heard about our rugged individualism.

I know what you are talking about and its a shame. I believe the reason why this happens is a lot of americans use the media including hollywood films as a reference to what is right and wrong and true and false. So of course when an enemy is presented to them like communism or saddam hussain they fall back to the John Wayne "go get em jawn!" mentality of solving things by blowing them up. Hence when Kevin Harvick a NASCAR racing driver was asked if he could trade places with anyone for a day he said "oh, the president. The first thing I would do is drop a bomb over Iraq and clean the place out. Instead of making everybody suffer with everything we go through, I'd just wipe it out and be done with it."
This kind of attitude is why its so easy to get America to go to war. All that you have to do is build up a monster like " the terrorists" , "Saddam Husain" or "indeed rogue states" and because blowing things up has been idolised by hollywood as being brave heroric and exciting, its easy to get backing for violence in that country. If its easy to get backing for war then the government can get away with it more. I know Bushes poll ratings are low but if the majority of the population fully understood what they were letting the neo-cons inflict on the world then they would demand the that neo-cons be relieved of political office and thrown in jail immediatly for war crimes.
Thankfully though there are plenty of Americans who are just as concerned about the gung-ho attitude as the rest of the world is, hopefully they will help change things.

There are those, mostly in Democratic areas, who are educated and have a cultural enthusiasm akin to educated Europeans. Most of them wish they were Canadians.
The rest live an a land that could be renamed Jesusville and are generally redneck and Republican.
Like most generalisations this has plenty of exceptions, but contains enough truth to be recognisable.
I know we have 'chavs' but they don't yet march into schools with an arsenal and slaughter twenty teenagers.

I think that you are reading and asking the kind of questions that simply beg for stupid answers. I live here and know that in fact Americans are all over the map when it comes to intelligence and attitude. What I find scarier is your generalization.

Which demonstrates quite admirably just how bad the American education system is and how uneducated and illiterate are many Americans who have recently graduated (a contradiction in terms if ever there was one) from their schools/universities.

Not all Americans are like that on here hon, don't rise to the ones that are, they are trying to get a reaction from you similar to the one that you have given. Ignore them, they may just get tired of acting so childish and grow up.

I confirm that Yahoo Answers give us a pitiful picture of your society.
We just hope that it is not representative of American society.
