I've seen many people on the left tout their support of Mahmour Ahmadinejad, especially after his interview on 60 Minutes. People claim he is "well spoken", or "thoughtful". But they ignore the human rights abuses his government inflicts on the people of Iran on a daily basis. People are beaten in the streets, arrested on no charges, subject to summary execution for thought crimes. There is absolutely no religious freedom. Not to mention that women are legally second class citizens (can't vote, can't hold office, their voice is worth half of a man's in court, can't drive without their husband's permission, no legal abortions). Is that the kind of society that leftists really want to live in?

Mayor Ray Nagin does more harm then good in the Katrina efforts to rebuild NO. He continues to bring up the race issue over and over and comparing Katrina to 9/11 construction is plain wrong. I believe this man loves listening to himself and wants to be remembered as an MLK / JJ type. He needs to get over NO being Chocolate again because he is never going to get it that way. What was he doing for the city prior to Katrina? Tourism was great, but what about the people and neighborhoods that were neglected for so long? Was he the people's choice back then, the savior of the poor? Don't think so. He can toot his horn all he wants, but what he really needs to do is start using a positive and productive approach in getting the city back on its feet. NO needs to be a 164 count box of crayons, not Chocolate. All races working together to bring the city back to life.
Ray, if that Cajun accent dude can make it all the way to the Casa Blanca to speak to the Pres, then you can too.

does anybody think that the two muslim guys that were recently ejected from the malaga-uk plane for being suspect terrorists actually set out for this to happen?
according to a fellow traveller on the news last night the two men were acting suspiciously and that was the reason for them being thrown off rather than just their appearance.
apparently they were wearing heavy jackets in really hot weather, even on the plane and they were also messing about underneath their seats.
What makes me think it was all a set up is because these 2 guys hold a copy of the daily mirror in their hands in almost any news coverage or interview ive seen of them, making me think that they've obviously been paid by this newspaper, giving them a motive to set up this situation.

they must have made a lot of money selling their story.

who thinks they intentionally got thrown off the plane?

Should we "leave" and think about saving American lives and let them fight their own war? Or if we left now, what would it be saying for those who have already given their lives? If we're doing "good" things and changing things for the better for these people then why don't we hear about it! Or is it because nothing is getting done and there's nothing to tell?

Olmert support fades.Nearly two thirds of Israelis want Ehud Olmert to resign, an Israeli newspaper poll found today, a reflection of the widespread perception that Israel failed in its war against Hezbollah in southern Lebanon. The poll, carried out by Yediot Aharanot, Israel's bestselling daily newspaper, found that 63 per cent of Israelis want the Prime Minister to step down.

Hez is a terrorist group, but their popularity is growing in that region, israeli cabinet is a democraticly elected government, who 4uked up big time in this war and their popularity is fading, do you folks see something is not right in this scenario????

WASHINGTON (AFP) - The United States has said it was investigating whether Israel broke secret agreements in its use of US-made cluster bombs in its attacks on Lebanon. The investigation was launched by the State Department's Office of Defense Trade Controls following reports that Israeli forces used the anti-personnel cluster bombs in civilian areas in southern Lebanon.Cluster bombs scatter a load of small "bomblets" over a wide area, and remnants of these munitions have been found in many parts of southern Lebanon, the Times reported."Because of their wide dispersal pattern, cluster munitions should never be used in populated areas," Kenneth Roth, executive director of Human Rights Watch, said.

If reality tell us that most politicians will lie and try to justify actions that they know were wrong, would you be able to notice when the person you voted for is in that state and cut your support or would it be to hard to notice and you will keep your support or would you notice and keep your support regardless for the same reasons the candidate has? Which is the right action as a voter?
