a female isn't regarded as the equal of a man in the Islam world so Hillary or Rice would be perceived as weak. We are facing a terrible war and we should have a strong man in charge, not a Carter. We need someone who can stand up to these terrorists without budging. He must be smart and have the personality to woe the world over to our side. Is there such a man? Newt Gringrige?? McCain?? The Democrates have no one. Hillary would be a disaster and so would Rice. We also need a person who will finally close the Southern border and most of the Northern border permanently. The heck with Spanish votes! He must do what is right for the nation and the nation overwhelmingly wants those borders closed.

Well even though I'm more than against gender discrimination, I truly do believe that a female president would be perceived as potentially weak and impotient of keeping up the rhythms of such a great power as the American Governement. Even though many women involved with politics proved the exact opposite, Arabs, living in a world that underestimates the power of women, would most likely doubt the potentials of a female president. That, in my personal opinion, is wrong because female politicians like Condoleezza Rice have achieved some great goals for the whole universe and that proves that they have more to contribute as political factors.

With the present climate in the middle east I doubt a female president would be given the respect a male president would. It's the nature of the culture.

A western woman does command respect. And until the Islamic community takes back their decree that they gave to Osama bin Laden to start a Jihad against Christians and Muslims...who cares what the Islamic World think.

I believe Bangladesh, and Pakistan both have had female rulers. But, overall I think they would be perceived as weak. Although, Golda Meir was anything but.
The ruler of Bangladesh was kinda hot too by the way.

Oddly enough I doubt we will ask their permission before we elect a woman president, and that will be something she, protocol and her cabinet have to deal with. I am sure it will throw an interesting political snafu into the works, but I am sure a woman strong enough to run and win the presidency will be able to surmount that challenge.

you bring up a very good point. I never thought about how the arab world would see a female US president.
when i was younger, i wanted to be US president, and i'm latina.
I wonder how'd they see me if i were president.
i love your question.

It all will depend on her thinking about Islam. What she thinks about Muslims, if she think they can be handled with talks not with force. and if her relations with Muslim countries are good.
if she can play her role in withdrawal of anti-Muslim forces from Saudi Arabia, Iraq, Afghanistan, Philistine etc than Muslim will warmly well come her.
