For example, I am about to take a job writing proposals for government jobs. But I had a felony offense a few years ago, and was accepted into (Accelerated Rehabilitation Disposition) and am in the program a few more months. I can expunge the felony off my record. I am afraid I will be denied the clearance. Would I then be fired from my job if I couldn't get the clearance?

Yes, if your job requires a clearance and you can't get one, you will be VERY quickly escorted off the property.

And about the felony...one of the thigns they look for is the length of time between that and when you applied for your clearance. so there's no telling but with a few more years passing, you might be able to get one.

Really sorry not to have happy news on that for you. But remember, if they deny you, you can appeal.

No seriously, are there that many top secrets in writing proposals for government jobs. Might we learn, if word got out, that you really don't need a college diploma for the job or worse that the government really doesn't have its own money to pay you for your work and the rest of us will have to pay instead.
