I watched an interesting documentary on this last night. Fairly unbiased, and it seems likely that in the next 100 years we will all be at war over water. What's your take on this?

I want to be a marine aviator. I was thinking of going into the marines reserve while i finish up my BA in Physics. I was thinking on doing PLC. Should I do the reserve part or skip it? Or would it be to my favor when I apply to PLC if I have a marine background? I was told by a recruiter that if I was in the PLC I wouldnt be activated for duty is this true? Oh and I have my private pilot license would that help me win a seat in marine pilot?

the new guy at work is WW3 mad. He keeps going on about the war on terror and how its the begining oof WW3. As I was trying to block him out I did begin to wonderhow you tell when a war could begin to be called a world war.

So... everyone's thinking that loners should come out and talk to people if they have a problem, right, and not go out into the world, guns blazing, and kill people... ever.

But is that the message we're really promoting when we invade Iraq to kill off a "bully" like Saddam Hussein? Does that promote a message that it's okay to use violence as a last resort?

Or is violence truly only the last resort of the incompetent?

i was totally against the war to begin with. but now everyone wants our troops out. i don't see how this is possible. i have family over there and they tell me how it is and say its worse than we would think. i mean if we took our troops out then wouldn't the people against the government just take over and overthrow them? then it wouldn't be any different then when we started and people would hate us more. i understand they want us out. but when we leave them and things go terribly wrong, then won't people just blame us for leaving them?

Okay, so I have a project to do for my social studies class and after about an hour of searching I have finally found a useful picture of a U.S. army uniform during the time of the Indian Wars (Custer's Last Stand, Seventh Cavalry 1870s-ish). I was wondering if anyone knew where I could find a list or a website or a good book that would have the supplies that soldiers during that time used. I need like the guns, food, shelter, and other supplies that a typical soldier or group of soldiers would take with them into battle. If you know of something like this I would appreciate it sooo much. thanks.

Attack on one of the surrounding countries. Would the same people that are criticising the governments of USA and UK still be criticising them , but for lack of action??

over the years we have slaughtered, raped, and bombed hundreds of thousands of innocent civilians, yet we would never consider ourselves terrorists.

what is the difference btw a suicide bomber and someone dropping napalm and firebombing a civilian city like dresden and hiroshima?

My dear BF is in IRAQ for a now 15 month tour. This is the first time that I have dated a military man, so of course I am anxious! Initially, he was supposed to be in Iraq for a year, but now it's 15 months. Initially, he mentioned that he may be home for a two week visit in the summer. Does this still hold true? Or does the tour extension change that?
