The point of the question is, what are the real risks? Yes, the public is at an emotioal high with Iraq and approaches the topic subjectively rather than asking the tough question.

We get our soldiers home, but the repercussion could be far more disastrous than completing the mission. - again, you have to take the emotions out in order to answer this question objectively.

terrorize us. We will make make a small fuss for a little while, but then we'll go home with our tail between our legs and apologize to the terrorists because we must have offended them in some way? What will be our fate if we do that?

my wife had a permanent 3 profile for her knees. it states no field duty, cannot wear full battle rattle (field gear), no range (firing or carrying her weapon), no PT test (not even the alternate events....all at own pace and distance), non deployable, and no lifting over 30 lbs. she is going through a medical board to be released. my question is....what are the odds of her being released from the army?

Suppose the bad guys effectively hit us with 50 x 500kilo ton nukes in a very stratigic manner. No more oil refineries, the capitol is a crater, the 20 most populated cities are gone.

The 2008 BJ Olympics will be an f'n eye opener for most AMerican homebodies...that's for sure. Most economists think that the Chinese conomy will overtake that of the US by 2020-30...
whereas my educated and historical guess is that the US is in for a huge watershed in the next 25-50 years...think about it...the US will have another revolution in 50 years...1760 (Revolution); 1860s (Civil War); 1960s (Assisinations/Civil/Women's Liberties); 2060s (All hell breaks loose)??
by the time the US has formed some kind of 'reality' towards its own citizens abd its foreign policy, China will be far ahead.
Imagine if China ever became the #1 purchaser of its own products?
Long live the BRIC alliance. Brazi/S.America, Russia, India & China?
It would be unstoppable? n'est pas?

I often wonder whenever I discuss current events with current and former soldiers. I wonder is someone who has been subjected to this treatment is actually a reasonable voice to debate with.

Also if you have been in the military were you aware of what they were trying to do to you?

My belief is that there was no reason to be there in the first place and what business do we have, sending the National Guard? The casulty numbers are a facilicy.. My wife works in a rehabilitation hospital.. Over 20,000 soldiers have been seriously injured..If this was 20 yrs ago we would have over 15,000 dead. Since we screwed the pooch so to speak..I think either we need to play to win WW2 style or leave.. Anything else is just complete stupidity and makes us look weak. Why would educated people trust GB Jr for military strategy? His father had much more common scence and a strategic mind. GB Jr goes by gut..

At the same time they say our military can't possibly defeat the armed civilians in Iraq.

Nostradamus forecast WWIII when he said "WWIII would come when the last of "The Greatest Generation who fought the Great Battle" were dying off. Statistics show that there are as many as 1500 WWII veterans dying daily.

Do you believe that Nostradamus was correct in his prediction, and is the U.S/Iraq war the beginning of such a dire conflict?

My son ,who is 19 years, intelligent but needs a match under him right now, is interested in the Airforce. As a "Mom" my fear is his stationing of course, also basic sign up years and all. And the quality of the education and experience. I am familiar with Army and the Marines. I back our troops and our Country's need for a well trained armed force but the whole idea terrifies me-does he have any control? My husband says his scores on the test and such help?

I do not know just what is the right course of action concerning the war in Iraq, but it disturbs me that the news media as well as politicians are all of a sudden the "experts" on what America wants when it comes to this war. Shouldn't we be asking the people who probably know more about the war in Iraq than senators and television journalists? Our soldiers are the ones risking their lives. They are the ones that have to evacuate. They are the ones who might actually know more than any politician---even if that politician is Hillary Clinton. Should we not at least ask the military leaders and the troops on the ground about how to resolve the war that they have been assigned to fight?

Mortar shells rained down Sunday on a girls' secondary school in a mostly Sunni area of western Baghdad, killing five pupils and wounding 20, witnesses and police said. At least seven other people died in a series of bombings and shootings across the capital, mostly in Shiite areas.

Are liberals really this stupid? Didn't the communist holocaust when we left Vietnam teach them anything?
