I did a Google search and found a website where you can write letters or send emails to Army Soldiers, U.S. Marines and Navy Sailors in Iraq.

I did this during high school, during the first Gulf War. We were required to pick at least one soldier to write letters to. I was surprised the guy actually wrote back several times. I think its a great idea, even if you dont support the war. The soldiers are doing a job. Lots of them are lower income young people who had no other choice in life than to join the military for financial reasons. That would be a major bummer. Getting letters would be great. Go for it.

Speaking as a veteran of Desert Storm those letters where so up lifting to get especially from the children. I sitll have all of mine. Unfortanelly I suffer from PTSD and the doctors recommend I stay as far away from anything to deal with the war as possible.
The children were just amazing. The sent valentines which was really neat so if someone reads this and has a class I'm postive the guys and girls would enjoy that

Because of my views people think that I have no support for the troops. That is far from the truth. I only wish that we could find ways to limit the death. I get kicked in the *** every day for my views on the war. My views on the war do not mean that I don't favour the troops.

when I was over in the desert I got a pacackage from operation gratitude, although it had a bunch of cheap crap, that most people would throw away it was all the cheap crap we forgot to bring or were broken, like ear phones, i still have mine from that box but anyway it had letters that little kids wrote and I taped them to my locker and along with a picture of my wife they helped keep me going so if all you can do is send a letter do it

I just wanted to say it is nice to see that there are still supporters of our troops out there, people so easily forget. My husband is getting ready to deploy over there for a 3rd time. they need all the support they can get, and letters from home cheer them up, even when they are from complete stangers it still makes their day.
