Suppose the bad guys effectively hit us with 50 x 500kilo ton nukes in a very stratigic manner. No more oil refineries, the capitol is a crater, the 20 most populated cities are gone.

Well how many nukes at once? Obviously one blast couldn't knock out the capital and all the oil refineries, and 20 cities in the countries. A blast in NYC certainly wouldn't reach Chicago or LA. If you're talking about 20 nukes going off at once in 20 different cities, well the whole world would be in trouble, not just the US. 20 nukes going off at once would most likely cause many aftershocks, killing additional millions, causing tsunamis, killing millions, and create a dust cloud that will alter the weather pattern of the earth and bring in a new ice age, so no more talk about global warming then. Naturally, this would kill millions, if not billions of people, ruin the economy of the world and pretty much destroyed organized human civilization. Yeah, it would totally suck.

Obviously the United States would hit the country who hit us twice as hard, remember Pearl Harbor? Yeah Japan killed nearly 3,000 of our soldiers (100 being civilians) and we nuked them twice killing about 250,000 japanese (mostly civilians). The only countries capable well crazy enough to do it is china and I doubt china would risk having millions of their own people killed. Russia is very capable of doing it but they wouldn't since they're intelligent. Either way other countries would be effected, the many nukes would cause tsunamis all over the world, if not a nuclear winter.

No one would ever do that. The United States has thousands of nuclear weapons we have the 2nd most in the world, Russia is 1st but they only have about 10-50 more than us.

Oh expensive. You do be attentive to that Royal army nuclear submarines dock at Norfolk, Virginia, rather extremely frequently on breaks in patrol? this is completely armed Royal army nuclear ballistic missile submarines, Sheamus. lots of missiles on board. no longer something unusual in a completely armed forefront classification sitting in a US port, then. in spite of the fact that pompous Yanks questioning they're something specific, they proceed to be our militia allies. won't be able to think of of a solitary sturdy reason to alter that, frankly. extraordinarily for the reason that their modern-day President does not get us in touch in any wars... no longer only like the final one.

Well.....since FEMA made a feasko out of New Orleans with just a hurricane.....a nuclear attack probably would take about 50 years to recover.

Simple. It wouldn't for hundreds of years.Your ground water gone.plant life dead. The sun light would be blocked, nuclear winter. All food sources would be contaminated and all trade would stop. This wouldn't be a movie. If you have never prayed before you would now.Think about this.Mustard gas WWI.Agent Orange Vietnam. These would sound like a common cold in comparison.

Depends on the city. Some areas can handle disaster rather well and are quick to help their fellow neighbors and then there are those who will just sit and die waiting on the government to save them.

That is a tough question.Let`s see they couldn`t even handle a desaster like the hurricane .they also stalled when it came to 911.I sure hope you are not asking this question with bad intentions.
