I am a senior in high school, and I want to join the Navy. I don't know whether I should enlist now, or do ROTC however.
If I do ROTC, I’d probably get a scholarship, and I would get to go in as an officer. I would also get "the college experience" of getting a degree on a college campus. Finally, I would get "leadership experience", which is apparently something employers look for. The bad side is that once I'm in ROTC, it's real hard to change my major without losing my scholarship. And if I get a scholarship, I won't get the GI bill to further my education (I want to get more than a bachelors eventually) Then there's the fact that ROTC is extra work, which might take away from my other classes. I would have much less flexibility in choosing my job as an officer. I could also get out of ROTC if I lost interest in the military (not likely, but its good to consider all possibilities).

Should I claim to be a Marine, Ranger or SEAL?
What secret awards should I claim to have or medals I was awarded in secret? What super secret missions to I claim I was apart of? What would happen if I was caught by a real Sailor, Marine, Soldier or Airman?
I can use it for a few reasons, to make my life more interesting. To bring glory, when it was otherwise uneventful.

I always believed that good management was when the highest person checked with the lowest person directly and not asked other bosses directly under them. The other bosses will agree with everything and go along with it all and tell the top person that it was a brilliant idea . This way the bosses will remain bosses because they made the top person feel good. After all it's not them that has to deal with it. This happens even if the lowest person hates what they are doing. This is known as kissing the top persons butt or stepping on others to get ahead. Isn't this the true "AMERICAN WAY"? Ask the Bush Administration.

(and before someone accuses me of calling all liberals ignorant please reread the questions. If I were to say, "how many red squares are on a checkerboard?", you wouldn't assume I meant all the squares on a checkerboard were red, would you?

What do you think the US army would be like if; Instead of going through collage and joining as an officer all soldiers join as enlisted and get promoted all the way up though the ranks from private to general. That way each general will know whats it like to be a private?

I read that half of veterans do not receive GI Bill benifets, and that it is really difficult to claim them. And that even if you do claim them, the financial aid at colleges is reduced dollar for dollar what GI Bill benifets you recieve. So you don't get a net benifet. Is this true? Did the GI Bill help you pay for school, and did serving in the military help you get a higher education?

What happened to Osama?? That is what I want to know. We are the most powerful nation in the world and we can't catch one son-of-a-*****??

I say they should have sent the Italian mob in there, they would have found this bastid already. GW is fighting a war for nothing in Iraq, we don't buy their oil, we buy Saudi's, that is why they get richer. The propaganda was they had nukes. They found no nukes, now what. The people that do have nukes, they aren't anywhere near. Why does it seem like GW is picking on Iraq? He doesn't give a rats behind that the women are treated like dirt, he don't care about restoring order, there is no specific reason to be there, bring the boys and girls home. They had enough dying there.

After his platoon had suffered heavy casualties and 3 other noncommissioned officers had become casualties, Cpl. York assumed command. Fearlessly leading 7 men, he charged with great daring a machinegun nest which was pouring deadly and incessant fire upon his platoon. In this heroic feat the machinegun nest was taken, together with 4 officers and 128 men and several guns. After returning from the war York became a staunch pacifist. With war becoming more likely again in Europe, Alvin began pleading with people to avoid war at all costs. But when World War Two broke out, Alvin attempted to reenlist in the infantry but age prevented him from doing so. Instead, he signed up with the Signal Corps and traveled the country on bond tours, recruitment drives, and camp inspections.

Id rather live an extra 50 years and have everyone display an air of indifference about me once im gone.

I mean people talk about heroes and stuff, but out of the 2940 marines who have died so far, how many can you name off the top of your head? how many have you bothered to look into their lives to find out how heroic they were? none? didnt think so. So why bother dying for people who talk the good talk, but when it comes down to the nuts and bolts of it, im just another stastic ......another name to put on some abstract wall somewhere.
