I just saw the new Army Helicopter... I dont know much about it.. but it looks pretty.. blah.... even though the Commanche was scraped... why did they go to a UH!!? What do you think...

I know what it is... and YES I can judge it by how it looks!!!... I worked on all US Army birds for 6 yrs so kiss my tailboom!! I just wish they came up with something KICK ***... instead of a freakin NEWS CHOPPER!!

This is a chopper has a different role than the Comanche it is more for replacing the blackhawk in the states from what i understand. It is not an attack helicopter at all. Its main roles will be to conduct light general support tasks in permissive, non-combat environments such as civil search and rescue, personnel recovery, evacuation, counter-drug and limited civil command and control operations in the conduct of Homeland Security. Most of these will go to the army national guard.
Oh I think it sorta sucks too, waste of money if you ask me.

This helos job isn't really to replace the Comanche it will instead replace any remaining Huey's and some of the OH-58's both of these are very long in the tooth. These will also be helpful in combined operations with NATO as this helo is European so the parts will be easily available there thus making logistics that much easier.

It is intended for the N.G. for general puurpose roles, not combat. I Fly the EMS Medivac version and it rocks. Very good performance and easy to maintain.
