I'm not suppose to answer this question either. I was in the U.S. Army from 1991-1995. Yes, I am a proud Conservative and I am also very proud of my military service. My husband served 15 months in Iraq and my brother is there now. What do you have to be proud of? Were you in the service? What's your excuse?

If all of the conservative who say that they've been in the military actually were in the military and didn't lie 9 out of 10 times, the US would have enough soldiers to invade every country from Turkey to China. But we all know that these armchair warriors have never been in the military so why bother?

Hey Andy G, take a look at this link, it may have an answer to your question:

I have over 14 years of military service. I supported the war initially. Don't try to paint with such a broad brush. You will rarely stay within the lines.

I am for the war in Iraq only if the nuts (libreals) in Washington stay out of it. Let the troops do what they were trained for. If a terrioust shoots one of us we shoot 10 of them.. In Vietnam we were doing good until the know nothings in washington got involved. I was 18 in NAM & got shoot in the ankle while doing my duty. I inlisted before I was old enough to have a draft card.Kerry servered in NAm but in my eyes he was no hero. He just likes tro shoot his face off about how bad our forces are in war zones. I spent 13 months there How long was he there. we will win in Iraq if the people who know how to fight wars are allowed to do their thing. THaNK YOU andy G

OK, I'll answer your question. I physically cannot. I tried to enlist, but do to some injuries, etc from my past I cannot. Did everything I could to try to get around it, but they would not let me.

Not everyone is physically able to join the military, plus there are other variables involved.

i imagine your question makes a sweeping assumption. the share of persons on YA represents a very small part of the inhabitants, and the creation of a rather few right here isn't a correct mirrored image of the final moves of the rustic's eligible inhabitants. The regulation states that one and all adult males between the a at the same time as of 18-24 register for the Selective provider. the vast majority of those who're referred to as, go. many who've already lengthy previous, are despatched back for extra excursions of duty. those who choose no longer to pass, for motives which incorporates medical exemptions or maybe conscientious objection, are nonetheless interior of their rights, and under no circumstances unavoidably unpatriotic. i understand countless those who would go, yet are unable to (using age or different valid motives which disqualify them). I help our troops - yet do not help the conflict. i'm a member of my community Daughters of the yankee Legion, and about as patriotic as an American may be. i'm from NYC, and could carry the emotional scars of 9/11 with me for some thing of my life. sure, this is common to condemn or help motives from a secure distance....yet that would not propose that each human being who isn't actively battling is unpatriotic. assisting our usa on the homefront concerns, too. the persons who offend me are those who do no longer some thing, on any the front, to electrify replace. there are a kind of battles to be fought. regrettably, a number of them bring about bloodshed....yet...they are all opportunities in case you want to be champions. we are all charged with making a distinction. what is going to your legacy be?
