During the fighting between Hezbollah and Israel, the public saw the Lebanese people as victims of Hezbollah. Now it looks like they support them. What is the truth?

We always hear how many US soldiers are killed or how many Iraqi civilians are killed, but how many terrorists have been killed (KIA)? I am not concerned with what group the terrorists are with, because to me a terrorist is a terrorist. I have been in the military for 4+ years, I am civilian now, but I am just curious if anyone knows an accurate statistic for this question. Any help would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

My 19 yr old female cousin Tori just enlisted with the WI National Guard. Her recruiter told her that she needs to drop 10...more like 30 if you ask me... (her 2 days at Great Lakes begins Dec 29)

Are there any secrets out there for her? She doesn't want to end up in fat class right off the bat....

Oh..and I truley think her recruiter is full of **** when he says she can school first and will never see Iraq .....they do not even have her chosen MOS here in WI...how can he get another state to "pick her up"?

Thanks guys! Been so long since my hubby was a newbie!

....for the average combat soldier? Make no mistake, there is no clear cut answer, just maybe a majority opinion.

My vote goes to World War 1. Probably the most apalling of weaponry in what had to be the most apalling of enviorment. And it seems that the returning soldiers of that war came back with a disposition of the world as only they saw it now far more callous of anyone else. Out of those trenches came Hitler, and those willing to execute his orders. There are more examples, but it's not necessary.

I was told that in basic training the Army opens and reads your mail and gives it to you in a clear plastic bag. Is that true and do they do that to everybody? My nephew is going in next month and want to know.

past wars tactics do not work as efectively because the opposition ian't dumb as all would have us believe. (recall the portrait we were all spoon fed about suicide bombers) the people we fight believe in their cause. in the past weve destroyed infastructure which supported the war effort and fought the armies in uniforms. do you think its possible to not destroy their urban battlefield and win this war? the British lost a few hundred years ago in large part because they did't change their tactics.
