Do modern submarines contain any metal exclusively for ballast, i.e. to make it easier for the submarine to dive, or is diving and surfacing controlled only by adding water or air to ballast tanks?

i want to jaion the army...i acnt....BAD CREDIT.....weapons ban, and crinal record...yah i know it sound bad but wouldntthey want some like me over seas kicking *** ? i am a hard worker... i dont to kill any one that is for sure but war is war...i would love the srtuctured envirment of the army but....the want goodt two shoes and that would rather send out smart crime free troops to die in afghanistan? why is that?

if society would let me prove myself to them in the army defending our land and freedom them i would kick *** at it and be the best i can...why why why not? its un fair i tell you..i would pass the phyc test so its not like they would be sending a crazy guy over there to help out..

I just found out that the ship I spent 4 years of my life onboard was sunk this last summer during Rimpac '06. I knew it was decommissioned last year, but had no idea they would sink it.

Anyone have any memories of her?

I give them a couple of more years at the most. With all the technology available they are still not beating these highly mobile militias and terrorists. The militias keep growing with ever more recruits. The war never seems to get better. When bush announced the end of hostilities on board the us aircraft carrier in 2003 there were more casualties and deaths after and now more have died since the ' end of the war ' . The insurgency and taliban will go on forever and ever. How long do you think they will last over there - the coalition and nato?

does anyone have experience when you have to go more than 100 miles from your MTF to get treatment?

I have to go to San Deigo for an appt - Yuma doesn't have what I need.

The unit is being very generous and paying for gas, hotel, and I think hubby's meals.

My meals will have (well- maybe gas too?) will be reimbursed by tri-care.

How does this work?

I don't want to go to the clinic as they violated hippa laws.

I have two roomates in the Navy. Our apartment rent with utilities is $1300. We are going to start renting a house next month which will be $1500 a month. Our lease in our apartment is due next month too. With a $1300 security deposit for initial move in, we need to fork out $3700.

To avoid this, the guys I live with (Navy) wanted to know if there was any way to get out of our current lease that has only one month left. It will save us $1300!!! Any advise is welcome.

France, Germany, Russia, etc enjoy the benefits while our men and women die fighting.

I suppose for some countries (Afghanistan, Iraq) it's irrelevant, but what about U.S. bases in Germany or South Korea. Do U.S. soldiers enter those countries via immigration (as a business traveller would), or just sort of land.

And returning home ... even Bill Gates and Warren Buffet must be approved by a lowly immigration clerk when they fly into the U.S.

But are soldiers outside of that process?

do they add the scores together from your first and your restest scores? my recruiter told me since i made a 13 on the last test all i had to make was a 19 and i was good but i have to take a confirmation test. i made a 22 am i good or what please help
