I have two roomates in the Navy. Our apartment rent with utilities is $1300. We are going to start renting a house next month which will be $1500 a month. Our lease in our apartment is due next month too. With a $1300 security deposit for initial move in, we need to fork out $3700.

To avoid this, the guys I live with (Navy) wanted to know if there was any way to get out of our current lease that has only one month left. It will save us $1300!!! Any advise is welcome.

Most times there are only clauses to get out of leases if you're being moved/deployed (and where we lived in 97 they took that OUT of the lease right after we signed.)

You *could* ask the mgmt company if you can use the security deposit of where you are now as last month's rent. They will still come after you for any damages though.

If the move is non-operational in nature, you are stuck between a rock and a hard place; unless your commanding officer will issue a signed statement requesting you be released of your lease obligations AND you have the military clause worked in your lease. In my eight years of Naval service, I've yet to see that happen for non-operational reasons. You might as well wait the extra month to move if its possible.

If the move is needed to fulfill orders or operational in nature AND the lease has been fulfilled for a minimum of six months AND you have a military clause in the lease, you may opt out of the lease with orders or a written/signed statement from the commanding officer.

Either way you need the military clause in your lease or you have no legally binding way out regardless of who's signature you have.

That all could be dead wrong as well depending on local laws, but not knowing what area you're in, that's the generic CONUS instruction.

the military clause only applies for PCS orders or long term deployments(4 months or longer).

If you have been model tenants, you can do as previously suggested and ask that your move in deposit be used to pay for the last month's rent. But they are not obligated to honor this request.
