More. Sadly, it never ends. Hard to see it ending anytime soon either. In favor or against the war, you have to hate watching this every day...

Officially or unofficially? the real number of dead troops arriving in German from Iraq on their way home, is FAR higher than the official figure. There has to be a stringent set of events happen before a servicemans death is added to the official total, including dying at the scene of official offensive action.

Anyone killed who dies away from the scene (even if they are moved a few yards to safety) is not counted in the official death toll.

Officially it might reach 100, but unofficially it is already way above that as the forward base Falcon was blown to bits with the loss of over 300 troops and over 1 Billion dollars worth of munitions, armoured vehicles, helicopters etc. It was after this attack that Bush mentioned the tet offensive in Vietnam and lied by denying that the administration had ever been "stay the course" in Iraq.

Things are going a LOT worse than Bush would have you believe and unless his vision of victory is a complete defeat and retreat by the US/UK forces, then he is not going to see victory in Iraq at all.

The troops have comprehensively lost the hearts and minds and the patience or tollerance of the Iraqi people. Without the Iraqi people on your side, The US/UK cannot win. The troops will have to withdraw or kill the vast majority of the Iraqi population and that would be the most heinious war crime committed since Genghis Khan.
