- china has no record of invading other countries (at least in the last 100 years)
- china doesn't openly criticize or threaten US (as oppose to iran)
- US's military technology is way over china's (china doesn't even have an aircraft carrier and stealth fighters) china's advanced military technology all coming from russia.

if wars really happen between US and China, i'd say china stand absolutely no chance. i think US government is just using china as an excuse to expand it's own military. correct me if i'm wrong.

Why is it that the only people on here that down-grade the military, British or other countries, are generrally the ones that have no idea because they have not served their country? And would be the first to look to a soldier to do the hard work for them!

Do you think the U.S. Army will start cutting units in 2007? Most bases have turned over half of their areas to the iraqi's, and there are more Iraqi Troops being transferred after we leave Iraq. Just wishful hoping!!

My 11 year old daughter is determined to become a Marine Jet Pilot for about a year now. She will be joining "Young Marines" in 10 days. We were told that Annapolis is not just for the Navy, but also the Marines. Is this true? If so, can a Military Professional please guide us in the right direction? Thank you in advance for any recommendations.

Marine didn't suspect Haditha wrongdoing Sat Aug 19, 9:15 AM

WASHINGTON - The Marine officer in charge of troops suspected of killing 24 innocent Iraqi men, women and children told investigators he did not initiate an inquiry into the carnage because he did not consider the deaths unusual, The Washington Post reported Saturday.

In a sworn statement given to military investigators in March, Lt. Col. Jeffrey R. Chessani said: "I thought it was very sad, very unfortunate, but at the time, I did not suspect any wrongdoing from my Marines." Chessani was commander of the 3rd Battalion of the 1st Marines.

"I did not have any reason to believe that this was anything other than combat action," he added. "This is the American way" he stated.

Reached by telephone late Friday, Marine Lt. Col. Sean Gibson, a spokesman on the Haditha case, said he had not seen the report and could not comment other than to say it is the American way.

I was in an artillery unit and never thought it would be obsolete. But with the new guided bombs is it. I have a nephew attached to a ranger unit, he is in the air force. He calls in the air strikes for support of the unit. Is the artillery obsolete or should it be. Maybe someone in the new military can say.

Dear Nephew, First of all let me tell you I hope you are ok and you stay safe. But you must beware of the truth. And the truth? The Insurgents are going to win. That's right. WIN!! Why? Because they have a real purpose and they are willing to die for this purpose "AND" most of all they do it "FREE". That's correct. They fight for free. If you Marines were told "You will not get a paycheck from this day forward" you silly Marines would quit and go home. But not the insurgents. They never get a paycheck and yet they fight you day in and day out. So the Insurgents will win and my Nephew will taste defeat. That's the hard truth. My nephew will taste the sting of bitter defeat. The Insurgents will taste sweet victory and will dance the dance of the winners. But don't worry nephew....Burger King is still hiring. ( Note: It's owned by an Arab ) enjoy the Proud Marines. Later. Your uncle Erudite.

4 U.S. soldiers killed in Afghanistan By rag tag insurgents by , Associated Press Writer
1 hour, 37 minutes ago

KABUL, Afghanistan - Insurgents killed four U.S. soldiers and wounded three others in separate clashes in Afghanistan Saturday as the war-battered nation celebrated its independence day amid an upsurge in violence.

Three U.S. soldiers were killed and three others wounded during combat operations in Pech district of the eastern Kunar province, said Col. Tom Collins, the U.S. military spokesman. American troops in that area are hunting for Taliban fighters and in the process are getting a butt beating by rag tag insurgents who are fighting like they are in the flintstone era. The USA military are having a hard time even if they are the most powerful nation on earth.
