Dear Nephew, First of all let me tell you I hope you are ok and you stay safe. But you must beware of the truth. And the truth? The Insurgents are going to win. That's right. WIN!! Why? Because they have a real purpose and they are willing to die for this purpose "AND" most of all they do it "FREE". That's correct. They fight for free. If you Marines were told "You will not get a paycheck from this day forward" you silly Marines would quit and go home. But not the insurgents. They never get a paycheck and yet they fight you day in and day out. So the Insurgents will win and my Nephew will taste defeat. That's the hard truth. My nephew will taste the sting of bitter defeat. The Insurgents will taste sweet victory and will dance the dance of the winners. But don't worry nephew....Burger King is still hiring. ( Note: It's owned by an Arab ) enjoy the Proud Marines. Later. Your uncle Erudite.

The funny thing is as soon as I start reading stupid post like this. I already know who wrote it without even looking at the name.

Once again your an idiot. Does your life really suck that bad to where you have to get on here an harass military members. How are you always off work. I didnt think McDonalds gave there employees this many days off a week.

I got news for you pal, a lot of insurgents do get paid. A good portion of the people we are fighting over there are contracted out by various Iraqi groups, just like we contract out security firms. The people setting up IED's or ambushes often get paid, and a lot of the resistance is made up of Iraqi criminals just looking to score some loot.

Hope that doesn't tarnish your idealized view of the insurgency. You can still cheer them on whenever they intentionally shoot up a mosque or set up suicide bombers in crowded places.

I have always opposed the Iraq War but when my husband, a British Army Officer, was deployed, I wrote letters filled with love and news of home. Whatever your personal view, you have no right to demoralise a young man who is doing the job he has chosen in difficult and dangerous circumstances. What is more important, that you make your point, or that you behave like a decent human being to a family member? if you can't be loving and supportive of him, then simply don't write.

Wow. As truthful as this letter may be, America is the largest voluntary military in the world. Reality bites, but I doubt he wants a reminder that he's facing a uphill battle. He CHOSE to go into the Marines, who are just the Presidents G.I. Joes who are the "first to go, last to know"......I think the letter is funny as hell, but it defintitely won't help his situation out, and may make him feel like you don't support him and his decisions. I'm a Democrat (best option out of all the available parties), so I agree the war is dumb, but the war is happening and someone has to fight/die for their country in order for it to be over. Politics are a ***** and it's really easy to dictate a war from your office in Congress and not on the battle field. I tip my hat to anyone who joins ANY military (especially in today's world) b/c if they go, it means IIIIIIII don't have to!!! I'm only 21 and if my uncle sent me that, I would feel really bitter towards him afterwards.

OK, as a 20 year veteran I hate this war and Bushco for the lies that started it and for all the troops and civilians who have been killed and maimed by it.

HOWEVER, I still support the troops who are willing to defend this country, unlike Bush, Cheney, Rush, et al were not during "their" war.

To make it short, if you send a letter like the above, you are a worthless POS who does not deserve to live in the great country that this one was until 6 years ago.

I am a Marine, and if i recieved this letter from my aunt, I would be rather upset. It is not fun over there, and the truth is that the morale over there is not that great at this time, so I would discourage you from sending this letter, but if you still chose to do so, that is your choice. Just remember this, your nephew is out there busting his butt, so the least we can do is to just tell him to stay safe, do what he needs to do and come home.

You know, I don't agree with this war but I still support the troops. They are human just like you and me.

I think that you are a nasty individual.

Bin Laden loves you.
You can be his writer.
And since you will have a miserable life with him, the will give you a reason to die and have 72 virgins,
What he won't tell you is they have no mouth, and no puzzy or anus.

He's waiting for your call.
