This really doesn't answer your question, but it's interesting info:

The Lebanese army is quite a bit smaller than Hezbollah's army, which explains why they have no real control over the country. My question is why does Hezbollah need to maintain a standing army that is bigger than Lebanon's army? In my opinion, the only possible answer is that not only is Hezbollah not ready to make peace with Israel...They are not ready to make peace with Lebanon, either.

The war was between Hezbollah and Israel ...not Lebanon and Israel. Hez has 2-10 thousand militants....far less than Israel....but then Hez doesn't really defend anything while Israel has to defend a whole country from multiple enemies.
